Pre and Post Surgery Remedies
Which homeopathic remedies should be taken before and after surgery for maximum benefit in healing?Thanks

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Please get hold of following medicines in liquid dilution:
1) Arnica 1m (1000)
Take one dose of Arnica 1000 before surgery (one day before) empty stomach early morning and one dose after surgery.
One dose means.
The medicine is in liquid dilution form. Add 3 drops of medicine in some half cup (Approx. 3 sip) water and stir with spoon. Sip up the content.
Make sure you keep all medicines away from direct sunlight, strong smell, strong heat zone (keep it in a dark cool place away from allopathic medicines). Also make sure the dropper is fitted with the bottle, else use separate dropper for different medicine for making doses, this will avoid unnecessary contamination.
Please follow homeopathy restrictions like no coffee, no raw onion/garlic, and no strong perfumes, don't eat or drink anything within 45 minutes before or after taking medicine and brushing of teeth one hour before or one hour after taking the medicine. These restrictions need to be followed each time you take homeopathy medicines during the treatment.

Apart from what Nikkie has suggested there are some specifics that will help in certain special cases.they are as follows.
1. In case of extraction of a tooth STAPHYSAGRIA 200c acts better than arnica.A dose before & a dose after the extraction.
2. In case of a major surgery like Bypass, appendisitis,hernia etc.HYPERICUM 200c along with Arnica is very useful.
3. In case of opening up an abcess for draining purpose few doses of CALCAREA SULPH 30c works wonderfully in healing & prevent infection.
4. After a orthopedic surgery along with Arnica SYMPHYTUM 6c twice daily for about a month helps the fast healing.

I had open surgery for right inguinal hernia, it turned out to be double hernia, both direct and indirecet.A mesh has been placed inside I have been taking homeo remedies as suggested.
The almost 6 inches incision with about 18 staples has healed and staples removed.
A hard ridge has been formed along the line of incision. Feels bruised and vey sensitive. Also it has become hard and a bit numb on right side of it.
Surgeon says it is OK and would normalse in a couple of months.
Please advise homeo remedies and any thing else to provide quicker relief.

Just take HYPERICUM 30c & Ledum Pal 30c ALTERNATELY two times each with a gap of about 3-4 hours for a week.
Apply HYDRASTIS OINTMENT twice a day, morning & evening on the incision & around it.
Report after 10 days.

Post hernia surgery, my testicles are hanging much lower than before, especially the left one. They seem to have been set free to dangle without any body control. It is quite embarassing and uncomfortable. Putting on a tight underwear does provide support but it is not practical to wear a tight underwear all the time at home.
Will the testicles come back to normal pre-operation status? It has already been four weeks since the surgery.
Is there any homeopathic remedy for correction of the present situation?
Please advise remedy or any thing to remove the discomfort.

Just take one dose of SEPIA 200c everyday for three days & stop and watch for about 15 days. Do not lift weight more than 2-3 kgs.
What is the condition of the scar of the operation.
Is the hard ridge reduced?

Scar is still like a stick pasted on my lower abdomen. Pain and numbness, however are a bit less. I am taking remedies advised by you regularly but I could not get Hydrastis ointment. I have been using Hydrastis Q mixed in vaselin, I wonder if that is OK.
As advised I shall take Sepia 200 every day for three days.

Yes Hydrastis in Vaselin is fine.
Pl report after about 10 days.
Stop taking Ledun & Hypericum during the days you take sepia.

On the very first day I took a dose of Sepia 200, I could see and feel improvement. Instead of three days I took it for four days, one dose daily with no other remedy. I can say with certainty that there is 80% improvement. However, the scrotum at times feels itchy and sore especialy on right side. Rubbing against inner right thigh has caused soreness there too. Light application of cocoanut oil gives some relief.
The pain and hardness of scar area has also improved considerably. I have restarted taking Hypericum 30 and Ledum P 30 as before.And applying Hydrastis Q mixed with vaseline twice daily.
I have started driving my car and also taking short walks. I wonder if I can restart Yoga and Pranayaam exercises which I had been doing regularly every day before the operation.

Yes you can certainly do yog asana & also pranayam without any doubt.
Kapal Bhati pranayam for about 10 to 15 minutes & Brhamari pranayam for 2 minutes will certainly help you in your scrotum problem as well. Please continue the medicines & taper down slowly using your own common sense.
Apply cocoanut oil agter bath & at bedtime twice daily.

The progress is slow but satisfactory on hernia scar. The ridge is still there but much less. Yoga exercises aggravated distress so I have stopped them and instead only going for walks.
The mesh inside some times causes cutting pain while bending forward.
I am continuing with the remedies.
I have another problem for which I need your advice. I have mild Eosinophelia. Phlem keeps dropping in rear of throat. Feel like hawking up to expel/swallow. Also in the morning off-white blobs of phlegm dart out on blowing nose.
I feel like hawking up and swallowing all the time but without relief. Keeping lozenges of honitus do help a bit.
Please advise

Happy to know that progess is there. Yes it will take time.
I suggest you to take just one dose of SULPHUR 30c & no other medicine for two subsequent days.
Then restart your usual medicines.

I took two doses of sulphur 30 as advised but there is no significant improvement. Lots of pale yellow stingy phlegm is thrown up in the morning through the nose. And there is constant need to hawk up throat and swallow through out the day. There is considerabe tension in throat at night, can neither hawk up nor swallow. To ease tension I keep one honitus lozenge in my mouth which keeps away dryness of throat and I am able to sleep comfortably.
My Eosinophila count is 12.5, upper limit is 6.
Scrotam is 100% normal now. Improvement in scar continues. There is occasional mild pain in upper part of scar. I am continuing with Ledum and Hypericum.
A few days back I was reviewed by the surgeon. He said mesh is well spread but being a foreign body, it will take about one year for it to get 100% accepted by the body. As of now, he said, it is about 30%.
He has advised me not to do any exercise whatsoever except walking 3-4 km for one year from date of surgery.
For your information and further advice please.

It has been nearly a month since my last post and I am still waiting for your kind advice.

Is your husband's shoulder is so bad that he needs surgery.
To my knowledge the surgery for Rotator cuff is also not always 100% sure shot cure.
However, as suggested earlier give him a dose of ARNICA MONT 1M one day before the surgery & after the surgery it from the same day the surgery takes place let him have RUTA G. 30c & STAPHSGRIA 30c alternately two times each in a day for 3-4 days.
Regular exercise however painful may be is a must after such surgery (of course as advised by Doctor)for permanant improvement.

Can he use Boiron Arnica Montana 1M Md in peals?
What dosage before surgery and after should in this case he needs to take?
