Toddler Homeopathic Reaction

My kid has struggled with teething. He's almost 18 months old and has all his teeth (except for the 2 year molars).

Anyway, a homeopath suggested that we use Calcarea Phosphorica. We gave it to him and his butt turned bright red and he could sit down or hardly walk it was so sore. Then the homeopath suggested Silica and he had the same reaction. Then we tried Belladona and had the same reaction. Then the homeopath thought he might have candida and we tried a candida remedy and that made him really "needy" and he couldn't sleep at night.

The only thing that doesn't cause a reaction is Chamomile - and it seems to help him.

Do you think he has Candida? Would Candida cause him to get a red sore butt when he takes a homeopath?

Any ideas or suggestions?

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Hi - this could be just another teething symptom that needs addressing by the homeopath and not a reaction to the remedies, as a lot of babes/toddlers get sore butts and sore mouths/lips/around lips when teething.
Chamomilla is a good teething remedy so use it if it suits! good luck...

His butt doesn't turn red from the teething. It turns red when we give him either Calcarea Phosphorica, Belladona or Silica. It happens within hours of giving him the homeopath and clears up when we stop. The sore butt is directly related to the homeopath.

which part of his butt turns red and how long after taking the remedy. Also - does this happen after just one dose of the remedy? Which potency?

I don't remember all the potencies...

The first remedy we tried was Calcarea Phosphorica 30C. Within a hour or two he develops a red line between his anus and scrotom. Then it spreads from his anus to his butt cheeks. His entire butt turns bright red. It peaks around 8 hours later. It is so sore that we have to take off his diaper and his clothes. He can barely walk. About 48 hours later looks a lot better... the redness is softened to a light pink and it isn't as sore.

Is it possible that the remedies that cause this reaction are given in a lactose tablet or on lactose powder? Is the chamomilla given in the same form?
I would be interested to know.
Without seeing your toddler and knowing the whole case it is no use me guessing why this reaction is being caused if not the above lactose.....
If no remedies are given at all does this reaction occur??

We have given him Chamomilla in the same form (tiny pellets) without any reaction.

He's never had this intense reaction with anything else.

A few months ago we gave him ibuprofen (liquid form for babies) one time. And he did have a reaction on his butt. It wasn't exactly the same reaction as we see with the homeopaths.

Over a year ago, he did have some issues with Candida and his butt was a little bit red by his anus, but it wasn't very bad.

After we gave him the Calcarea Phosphorica, his personality really changed. For a few weeks, we was terrified by familiar noises. Prior to the remedy he would laugh when I sneezed or burped. After the remedy, he would start screaming and crying when I sneezed or burped, etc.

Chamomilla, potency 6,1 globule/pilule/ball,2 hourly,is what I have given to many infants and it has always worked as a general remedy for dentition disorders. If potency 6 is not availabe, give 30, 4 hourly.

Cal.Phos is for delayed dentition etc.

As you have found chamomilla effective, please stick to it.

Cal. Phos is also widely prescribed, when indicated.

If the personality change persists, Nux Vomica 30 will bring the system to normalcy.

Here are the potencies...

Calc Phos 1M (1x/month)
Chamomile 10M/30C 1x/day
Silicae 100C 2x/day

Had reactions.

Then homeopath said to use these:

Chamomile 200C 1x/day
Belladonna 200c 1x/day
Candida

Had reaction to these.

Chamomile is the only one that he does not have a reaction. We continue to use chamomile

for teething no need to go to very high potencies - the 6c, 12c or 30c give good treatment. 200c can be used if very painful, but only if needed and is not usually necessary.

It is a general rule that we should not start treating children and old people(old people are like children because due to age their body resistance has gone down and in case of children they have not lived long enough to develop adequate body resistance) with potencies above 30.

Are higher doses for constititional remedies? Or are higher doses for more severe symptoms?

higher potencies can be used in both situations you mention, with the guidance of a homeopath.
