Sorry to bombard you again Kadwa (you really should multiply yourself so the world has about 15 Kadwas running around!) but another ailment that has plagued me for several years now (from prolonged sitting when I was working and then from pregnancy) is a very stiff and tight lower back. I feel like these tight muscles in my sacrum contribute to my constipation. If I bend over to scrub the tub and do anything for too long it hurts so bad to straighten up my back! I have been seeing a chiropractor for about 3 years now, but still the pain persists. I've always carried a lot of stress in my back (all over), but the lower back tension is awful. Since I started exercising again I am reminded of it every time jump up and down or side to side (part of the exercise routine). If pressure is applied there it's very painful. When I was in the military I injured my L3 and L4 of my lumbar. I know I also used to push my body as far as it would go so I could be the fastest or strongest. My right side is the worst. When I used to get regular massages the therapist used to have to work very hard to get all the knots out my back (never got them all ever). Also, I had one therapist tell me that I had knots in my butt as well. I'm sure this is related to my knee pain along with the extra weight I carry. I know the extra weight has affected the arches in my feet. Hopefully this will assist in painting a better picture for you of me.

Hi kadwa- here's an update on me. I no longer am having problems with constipation! I also have made a turn for the better regarding my weight situation. I have lost 7lbs and seem to be doing well regarding my appetite and food cravings. I have increased my water intake to 160 oz/day and am still exercising almost daily for about 20min. I am still not getting the appropriate amount if sleep a night due to my 5 1/2 month year old teething, but despite that my energy level is better than it has been in over a decade. I have incorporated a high protein/high vegetable diet into my daily food intake. I feel more confident in being able to achieve my weightloss goals. My aversion to household chores has also decreased, yet my maternal nature seems to have decreased, especially toward my 2 1/2 year old. I feel absolutely terrible because honestly right now I do not like him. I love him dearly, but I quickly become frustrated with him, do not interact with him the way I should be and have lost most of my patience with him. My 5 1/2 month year old is so sweet, yet when I have to stop doing whatever in doing to nurse him or pick him up I think, 'here we go again!' I'm still not living in the moment either- always feel rushed with what I need to do next. I do feel better towards my husband and realize I do need to nurture our relationship more, and even feel bad that we don't get more time together alone. My knees still crack and my lower back right side is finally moving properly; however the dull pain remains in most of my lower back, but I am trying to do my best to stretch it out. Occasionally my vision is blurred- not often but it does happen enough to make me wonder why it happens. I plan to make a trip to the eye doctor to see if there may be something wrong with my blood vessels in my eyes. Overall I do feel so much better, but I am still having trouble with blowing up and handling stress appropriately. I really am trying to evaluate situations to ensure I am not trying to overextend myself or in the case of my children, to see things through their eyes, but ii know something is not right regarding my growing apathy toward my job as a stay at home mother. Maybe this will pass? I want to be nurturing and confident not overbearing and unsympathetic to things like potty training accidents.

Hi kadwa, I'm suffering from constipation again despite my exercising 5 days a week, drinking more than a gallon of water a day, and eating a nutritious diet. My weight loss efforts have plateaued as well. I still occasionally fly off the handle as well, and I noticed that my episodes are directly related to whether or not I'm making progress with my weight loss and/or financial stress. Actually I think I'm not internalizing my stress well and I'm allowing it to manifest in outward anger towards my family. My energy levels are good despite still not getting a full night's sleep due to my 6 month old. I have my sweets cravings under control as well, and the thrush in my milk ducts appears to have gone dormant since I've changed my eating habits. I know it's still there and will remain there until I can do a cleanse after I finish nursing. What should I take for my constipation?

Hi kadwa- I am still suffering from constipation/irregular bowel movements despite me being on a nutritional cleansing program that gives my digestive tract a break for 48 hours twice within one month time period. I'm drinking more than a gallon of water a day, no coffee at all for the last 2 months, lots of leafy greens and vegetables, lean meats and very little red meat, no processed or refined sugars, no dairy for the past month - the list goes on an on to how I'm eating right, but still no regular bowel movements. What can I take to help with this? I'm sure it's hindering my weight loss as well. I am also exercising 5-6 days a week for a minimum of 25 minutes and up to an hour. Thank you!

Hi CC mom,

Wondering if you ever tried a shiatsu massage ( my first
choice) then acupressure if you can't find shiatsu.

There are a lot of trained shiatsu people where I am,
and I have taken many relatives for this with the L3
etc back problems, after they did chiro, acupuncture,
rolfing, phys. therapy etc and even back operations.
The shiatsu relieved everyones pain and it lasts and
they build on each other-see the mayo clinic site on
these-not in the same league as other bodywork.

No I have never, but I will look into it immediately. I injured my L4 and L5 while in the military, so maybe this will help me. Thank you so much!!

I don't know one person who it has not helped-
you are tired, and 24 hours later it kicks in big time.
Try to find someone who has really been trained in this,
rather than the person who does Swedish, some
acupressure, etc, its not going to be the real deal.

If you can't find anyone call some acupuncture offices and
ask who they know who does 'real' acupressure.

Best,
Simone717
