Dyspepsia GERD Gastritis Raynaud Sjogrens

I am 48 years old and was diagnosed with Sjogrens Syndrome a year ago. I was given the constitutional medicine Nux Moschata which alleviated dry mouth entirely and helped reduce the fybromyalgia pains and some of the night twitching (not in entirely). However, the dyspepsia, gastritis and GERD symptoms continue and are getting worse and more problematic. The gastritis has not healed fully and the pain goes to my back - left side. Lots of burning in the pit of the stomach. I get up at 3 a.m. with heartburn and has esophageal spasms as well. I also have Raynaud's and my fingers and toes get blue and cold. My doctor at the time said it would take time for the Nux Moschata to work but it has been six months now and it has not helped my digestive issues or the esophageal spasms. I also have sluggish digestion and dyspepsia - stomach gets extended shortly after eating and it is hard to breathe while sitting. I am wondering if perhaps these are the first signs of Scleroderma and will be having motility tests and if it Scleroderma, would Nux Moschata continue to be the right medicine for this alone. I have also been given Nux Vomica but that has not helped much. I would appreciate, please as much help as possible. Many thanks to you all. These connective tissue disorders are very complex at best.
My issues started with fatigue about 3 years ago, then brown melasma spots on my face, hives on the face if I eat the wrong thing or use any facial product (very sensitive to all chemicals), then it progressed to stomach issues and then the dry mouth and eyes (that has been resolved using Nux Moschata 6c (3 pellets x 3 times a day)...and now also esophageal spasms and sluggish digestion. I cannot eat anything that is heavy to digest, including carbohydrates, sugar, meat, etc. I am taking these supplements: magnesium, vitamin E, selenium, zinc, vitamin B complex. I take antacids as needed but try to avoid them as they only provide temporary relief. Thank you again for your consideration to my posting.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Are you working with a Classical homeopath?

Bc a lot of classical homeopaths think one remedy is
going to restore everything. You need to put the
history on here of what you have been given, how far
apart, the dosing and the potency of the remedies.

Sometimes one remedy is a partial 'similar' and you need
other remedies to address what is not being healed.

In additions to the above put the answers to this form on here-

and someone will help you with this.

Thank you. I was given last October 2012 Nux Moschata at the potency of 6c - 3 pellets 3 times a day for three months. I believe it was increased to 30c gradually and after taking that for 3 months, I no longer had to take the conventional medicine for dry throat - that was amazing but took some time. And Nux Moschata cleared up the dryness in my throat and itching in my eyes. I was also given Nux Vomica 6c for digestive issues. That is all I have taken to this point but the digestive issues never improved. The more inflammation I feel in my stomach, the more red my eyes become. Not so much eye dryness anymore but redness from the inflammation I feel inside. I welcome any guidance in this forum as my symptoms feels so complex to me and value the experience of others. Here are the answers to the questionnaire:

Patient ID: Sex: Age: 48

Please answer the following questions in a descriptive manner after careful analysis and recollection of previous experiences and happenings.

1. Describe your main suffering? Dyspepsia, “GERD, esophageal spasms, gastritis (burns at pit of stomach and goes towards the back –left side and spine), wake up at 3 a.m. with heartburn…the heartburn and acid reflux remains active all the time. Sluggish digestion and it is often hard to breathe while sitting down due to the pressure of the reflux. Anything I eat feels like it just sits there/sluggish and backs up into my esophagus. No vomitting. I don't drink alcohol or smoke or drink coffee.

2. What other physical sufferings do you have in your body? Some twitching when I sleep (jerking), melasma, hives on face at times, sensitive to the sun, Sjogren’s, hands and feet get blue (doctors are not certain if I have scleroderma – right now it is being considered Sjogren’s related); hayfever allergies – seasonal and also food allergies

3. What mental sufferings / feelings do you have associated with your physical sufferings? I have been battling this for a couple of years now and the symptoms are getting progressive. But I try to lift my spirits as much as I can and stay positive…but I have my good and bad days. I don't feel depression just very discouraged at times when I try to eat well and help myself to no avail with regard to symptoms

4. What exactly do you feel when you are at your worst? I want to cry in desperation at times when I can't sleep due to the reflux, gastritis pain and inflammation I feel inside my stomach.

5. When did it all start? Can you connect it to any past event or disease? I have asthma and seasonal allergies and it started with severe fatigue a few years ago, then a yeast infection which cleared up, melasma (brown spots on my cheeks), hives on face, stomach problems, dry throat and eyes, fibromyalgia, esophageal spasms, in that sequence

6. Which time of the day you are worst? Difficult to sleep and very tired during the day as a result. The reflux is problematic

7. What are the things which aggravate your suffering and which are those which ameliorate the same? Stress and lack of sleep aggravate the symptoms…also, if I eat the wrong things

8. Do your think your sufferings have relation to any external stimuli (like, change of place) or any internal biological changes in the body, like, menses (in females)? I have irregular menses and my hormone levels (progesterone, estrogen, DHEA) are low…my vitamin D levels are normal and thyroids checked and they are normal. Also have anemia but with iron supplements for 3 months, that was resolved.

9. When do you feel better, during hot weather or cold weather, humid or dry weather? The cold weather hurts my hands and feet and the heat aggravates the dryness I feel

10. Describe your general mental set up? Are you Moody, Arrogant, Mild, Agreeable Changeable, Nervous, Suspicious, Easily offended, Quiet, Arguing, Irritating, Lazy etc. – very calm as a young person and driven but with these symptoms, feel very nervous and anxious..wish I could feel like my old self again physically as good health puts one in a good mood

- How do you feel before or during a thunderstorm? I am okay

- Do you like being consoled during your tough times? I wish I had a partner to share my thoughts with so there is loneliness I experience that I keep to myself
- Are you sensitive to external stimuli like smell, noise, light etc? very sensitive to smell and noise

- Do you have any typical habit or gesture like nail biting, causeless
weeping, talking to one self etc? no, not really

- How do you feel about your friends, family, your children and especially your husband / wife? I am a single mother and love my family and friends but don’t want to burden them with my ailments

11. What are your fears and do you dream of any situation repeatedly? I fear not being able to work and support my family

12. What do you crave for in food items and what are your aversions? I like sweets like ice cream that are cold but am avoiding them. I also love fruit but am avoiding that due to the sugar (difficult to digest) and I don’t digest milk well so averse to that. Everything I eat seems to regurgetate/back up into my esophagus

13. How is your thirst: Less, Normal or Excessive? normal

14. How if your hunger: Less, Normal or Excessive? Normal to low

15. Is there any kind of food which your body can’t stand? Super spicy or greasy

16. Is your sweat normal or less or more? Where does it sweat more: Head, Trunk or Limbs? Not much sweat

17. How is your bowel movement and stool type? No more than once a day (usually in the mornings) – sometimes loose and sometimes constipated

18. How well do you sleep? Do you have a particular posture of sleeping? I don’t sleep well due to the stomach issues and feeling of inflammation inside my stomach and body

19. Do you think you are able to satisfy your sexual desires in general? I am a single mother and celibate - not currently in a relationship

20. How do you think you are different from others, if at all? I think I have a lot to learn from others – enjoy the differences in us all

Hi- you are new to the forum and you only need one
thread bc you can only follow one person ( every homeopath
does things a bit differently)

This is the form Kadwa uses and I gave him the browser number
for it on your other post- so he will respond on this thread. He will also
get email alerts on this thread every time you write on it.

You can look on the front page upper left of forum and
see a button for your recent threads and this thread will
show up so you can post on it.

Please take three doses of Conium 200 as follows and see how that affects in next 15 days (only 3 doses in 15 days).

day 1 morning
1st dose

day 1 evening
2nd dose

day 2 morning
3rd dose

One dose means
If the medicine is in pills form 2 pills. Don't touch pills with hand. Use cap of bottle to take pills.
If the medicine is in liquid dilution form, 2 drops in some 20 ml water. Sip up slowly.

Please follow homeo restrictions like no coffee, no raw onion/garlic, no strong perfumes, don't eat or drink anything within 30 minutes before or after taking medicine.

If this doesn't help please take Phosphorus 200 in exactly the same way after 15 days and report back.

Dr. Kadwa, thank you! I had an esophageal manometry on Friday and it showed that I do not have Scleroderma but that I do have a 'nutcracker' esophagus. I also have 'duodenal' gastritis that is very painful as it burns to my back. I was told that 'nutcracker' esophagus relates to the HPylori bacteria yet all my tests, blood and stool come up negative for this. I will follow up after I take the medicine you have suggested. If you have any other comments, I welcome them.

Arsenic 200 and Carbo Veg 200 may be needed later if Conium 200 doesn't work. You may have these with you for future.

Hi Dr. Kadwa, I ordered the remedies you suggested and will receive them in the mail in the next few days but wanted to give you more information if you find it helpful. I went to see the doctor today and given the test of last week, it seems I have achalasia (esophageal spasms - also known as nutcraker esographus and also chronic 'antral' gastritis - NOT duodenal as previously mentioned. I also have GERD and dyspepsia...it seems my body is making a lot of acid. I dn't want to take anymore antacids because they make me sick. Please advise if you feel the Conium you mentioned is still the first course of action based on the totality of the symptoms. Many thanks!!!

Dr. Kadwa, a few more questions since I have been meeting with conventional medical specialists these past few weeks with relation to my Sjogren's Syndrome. I met with my rheumatologist this week and she said that as Sjogren's progresses, such as in my case, the disease not only attacks the salivary glands in the thoat (which Nux Moschata helped tremendously and as a result I no longer have to take the conventional medicine to help me make saliva) but also in the stomach and vagina. Once the stomach stops producing the moisture, the mucous layer that is needed to break down food is not there and as a result, it opens a path for bacteria and fungus to set in the stomach and small bowels, constipation, dyspepsia, esophageal spasms, etc., which is what she feels is happening to me. It makes it difficult for the stomach to break down food or supplements. She said it probably has not affected me vaginally yet because I am still producing some estrogen but that may be affected when I stop making estrogen. Having said, would the Conium (or arsenic and carbo) also help my stomach/body make more moisture or is there something else we should consider for that maledy later on/separately since the root of the problem is that my immune system is attacking my salivary/moisture making glands. In reading an article about Sjogren's for homeopathy, Nux Moschata was brought up at 200 and 1K doses - every 2 or 3 months (I am taking one 30c each day) and also PolyBowel nosodes for the stomach. With my stomach, I notice that when I drink a cold drink of water with crushed ice, it helps and the inflammation can sometimes hurt where my kidneys are...before I knew I had Sjogrens (verified by an ANA panel test geared towards Sjogrens), I took a couple of Advil and that helped relieve the pain/discomfort of the inflammation but I was immediately told I could not take that as it would affect my stomach and I have not since. However, when I am asked what I mean by pain of inflammation, that is the best way I can describe it. The Nux Moschata helps relieve some of the with regard to headaches and fever and pain in the back but not my stomach and sometimes my kidneys.

I thought I would run this by you for consideration as I touch base in the next weeks after I follow the protocol you listed. I was also wondering how the Conium may help the body or symptoms I have?

Thank you, I am new to all this so please excuse all the questions. I appreciate the knowledge shared with me and homeopathy seems to settle well with my system. I also want to share/relay as much information that is being relayed to me about Sjogren's and my symptoms that may be of assistance.

The remedies are not taken daily in homeopathy. The remedies act internally for a long time and there is no need to take them daily. Please go ahead with Conium as advised. Please stop all other homeopathic remedies.

Dear Dr. Kadwa, I am now writing back to give you an update after taking the Conium as you instructed. Then I waited about 3 weeks before taking the Ars Alb and Carbo Veg and a few weeks before contacting you to give you results over time. I no longer feel constipated and the inflammation in my stomach has lessened as well as the tremors I felt at night so this is great. Also, as result of less stomach inflammation, my hands and feet no longer get purple with the cold weather. My nutritionist feels this is all connected to my stomach problems and inflammation and that I have leaky gut syndrome with some type overgrowth of yeast/fungus/parasites and mild celiac/crohns, although testing did not show this as positive but the symptoms are relative. I am also taking some natural supplements to help with the Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth because eating fruit, milk, beans or anything that turns into sugar makes the inflammation or acid reflux worse and that is helping as well. I have avoided dairy products and when I ate some ice cream with chocolate a week ago, I had the worst stomach cramps and loose painful bowels. I took some Colocynthis 30c and that helped a lot and also for the esophageal spasms as well as some Apis 30c when my cheeks get flushed and red. I don't know if this is a result from stomach inflammation or related to being ANA positive/lupus? The doctor's don't think it is lupus because there are no other symptoms but I am sensitive to the sun on the face/cheeks.

I also notice that my melasma (brown spots and patches on my face) are getting larger and darker and was wondering if you could suggest anything for that and also some eczema dry patches on the forehead and in between the eyebrows that sometimes get raw. I also can fall asleep easily but can only stay asleep for a few hours and then stay awake for several before being able to sleep again. My rheumatologist said this is common for patients with Sjogrens. I want to thank you for your assistance. Due to homeopathy, I am not taking any harsh medications that are not good for my body so I welcome your help in hopes that one step at a time, I can improve along the way. I welcome any step towards improvement in the process. If you could suggest something that would help with the above mentioned items, including the brown patches of melasma, I would greatly appreciate it. I am very grateful to you.
