9 month old diagnosed with reflux

My nine-month-old was diagnosed with reflux at four- months-old. He was put on prevacid, and when that didn't work, zantac. At four-months-old we also moved him into his own room. He's had the same bedtime since then. After I lie him down, he wakes up within an hour. He'll continue to wake up every hour-two hours after that. I've tried laying him down while still awake, and once he's entered into the second stage of sleep. Either way,I get the same results. I've even tried formula. He's been teething for MONTHS, too. I've been giving him tablets, when I think he really needs them. I don't want to keep giving him the Rx, because I don't think it's making a difference. Is there anything else I can do? I'm exhausted. I nurse him every two hours. He naps for hour-two hours during the day.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
You can try the cell salt Nat phos 6x, for the reflux. And the cell
salt Cal Phos 6x for the teething.

For the Nat phos, use 1/2 a tablet and give it right after feeding-
dissolve it in a tablespoon of water. Do not use more than
5 1/2 tabs in 24 hours. Give this a couple days to see how it works.
Sometimes you have to go up to one tab for a bit to get it under
control and then go down to the 1/2 tab and then gradually it
won't be needed at all.

Make sure you are watching what you eat and eliminating gassy foods
from your diet. This is Joe deLivera's infant Gerd protocol you may
go to his site, www.joedelivera.com and read about it, he advises
nursing mom's to take the nat phos themselves.

The Cal phos 6x is for teething, you can give him a tablet of this
dissolved in water 3x a day to see how it works for you. There are
other remedies for teething, like Chamomilla if the baby is really
irritable, but right now, it is probably hard to tell what is doing what
with the reflux.

Cell salts are very mild and safe to take for weeks at a time. See how
this goes. They are at Whole Foods ( hylands brand) and you can
order them online from Vitacost. Using a pacifier or teething ring,
that you keep in the freezer for short periods also helps.

Ok. Thanks. I'll try to find them at my local natural foods store. Is this something you've tried with your own infant?

Hi Candy,

look at this severe case with a premature baby-http://www.abchomeopathy.com/forum2.php/391138

My kids are grown now, I did not know about homeopathy
until they were toddlers. If you google baby gerd, acid reflux,
colic, in the forum search box upper right you will see more
cases using this protocol.

This particular method was devised by Joe de Livera and
you can read on his site more cases.

There are other remedies for colic and teething if these don't
work. These are very common things in babies. If you want
to know more about homeopathy you can go to the site of
Mary Aspinwall, she is a well known homeopath who had a
best selling book on homeopathy that is a free pdf on her site.

Awesome. Thank you, so much. I'm desperate. I've run out of ideas, and modern medicine is failing us. I appreciate your insight. I really hope this works.

Ok, so my doctor told me I couldn't use both his reflux meds and the nat phos 6 and that I shouldn't use it for more than 7 days in a row. He still is not sleeping well through the night, and is hardly ever just content. I'm wondering if it is really safe to continue the nat phos 6 and the calc phos for a long-term period of time.

It sounds like the child could use a different remedy
or a different potency of a remedy.

A. is he off the allopathic medicines?
B. What is going on now, is there still reflux, spitting up,
waking up due to that?
Or is there just gas pains or what?
C. What is the stool like?
D. When you say he is not content, is this how it always
has been- what makes him feel better, being carried
around all the time, please describe.
