Future Homeopathic

Hello. I am 17 years old, and I live in the United States.

I am in my eleventh year of highschool, and at school we are required to do research on careeers that we would like to go into to prepare for college. I am leaning towards Homeopathy as my choce, but I really don't know that much about it the actual career.
However, there are no Homeopathic practionores in my area, nor are there any colleges with a focus on Homeopathy. so, I was just wondering if I could get any information from any Hoemopathic physicians out there, or form anybody else. Specifically anything about colleges in or out of the United States( I have always wanted to go to school abroad). Also, anything about your job, if you had to go to medical school and declare your major as pre-med for your bachelor degree or not. I was wondering if it was possible to just get a bachelors degree in Homeopathy.

Any information of any kind would be awesome.

thank you so much!!

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
I'm not a homeopath, just someone who has studied a bit on the side, so I won't be much help. However, I can tell you that different states have different requirements and restrictions on who can practice as a homeopath. (I recall that some states don't allow it.) That might affect how much specialized education and training you would need in order to legally practice. What it would take to practice well appears to be very much a lifetime dedication to learning the remedies and learning Hahnemann's principles of dosage and cure. I am very much in awe of the good homeopaths I have encountered in the internet. One of the best has a photographic memory. You certainly don't have to go to medical school although there is much you would learn in medical school (or a nursing program, for instance) which would help. There are different certifications you might want to explore.

There is a listing of training opportunities at National Center for Homeopathy's website (I'm not allowed to post it here). You can probably find it by Google. There are probably many other correspondence courses. Good luck!

I am from India. I suggest that you study Medicine in US and side by side learn Homeopathy also. To become a good homeopath, you need to study Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology, Gynaecology, First Aid, Medical Jurisprudence and General Medicine, where you have to cover all communicable diseases also. Then in the Pharmocology side, you have to study the medicines of Homeopathy and Philosophy of Homeopathy which is called Organon. So if you become a good Allopathic doctor, by practice, you can use the homeopathic drugs which are wonderful for diseases pertaining to children, women, all mental disorders, respiratory problems, abdomen problems and so on. The goodness can be successfully and judicially handled by you. All the best!

I am a homeopathic student in London-England. You don't have to go to medical school to obtain sufficient training in anatomy and physiology, you just need to do your research and make sure that the college or university is reputable. Any YES you can do a Bachelors Degree in Science and a Masters Degree (just developing) in Homeopathic Medicine in the UK. I am North American and decided to do my homeopathic training in the UK due to the excellent colleges and qualifications. Good Luck!
