Child with cough and fever

My 4 year old girl has had a loose mucousy cough for about 3 weeks now. At some point she would cough up some yellowish mucous. No other symptoms apart from a slightly runny nose.
She stopped coughing up phlegm and when she did it was no longer yellow and was clearer. She usually coughs when she wakes up and occassionally throughout the day. When she blows her nose discharge is like clear mucous.
As of today she stopped eating as much and I suspected that she might be ill. She ended up having a fever (39 celcius) but still appears fine. It is quite hot where we live. She hasn't shown any signs of chills or sweat. Her breath smells a little but she says that her throat doesn't hurt.
Please advise. Thanks.

Her cough still persists. Fever went down in 2 days but her cough is unchanged. Still sounds loose and mucousy.

what is the color of sputum and is there any sound in the chest.

The chest is clear, and she doesn't cough anything up, so I can't be sure about the colour.
