Remedy dosage
Hello,I used two 30c pellets of Apis prescribed by a homeopath. I experienced some relief but also another set of symptoms which were unpleasant occurred. I reported this to the homeopath. I was told to not take any further remedy and wait out the aggravation. The next day the symptoms for which the apis was prescribed for start returning, I reported to the homeopath, he said to take the same dosage of the apis again. I became hesitant to try the same dose again since I had the very unpleasant experience.I could not even function at the time it was occurring. I relayed my concern to him. He said my body was use to the dose and should not happen again. Also said this was a healing crisis and should not happen again. Hard for me to believe. I would like to take the remedy, apis, again, can I take it in a more diluted form and still work for me? I currently have the 30c dose sucrose pellets.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
It is strange that your homoeopath is not willing to adjust the dose, since this is actually the directions we are all given in our Organon of Medicine (our main textbook for practice).
You should NOT be taking the dry pellets again. This is almost certainly going to produce problems. Again, our instructions - taught to any student - is to always dilute the medicines into water especially for continued dosing.
It also sounds like your homoeopath is somewhat confused about their terminology. You did not suffer a healing crisis - you suffered an aggravation with the addition of some extra symptoms (what we call proving symptoms). This is a sign of one of two things - either you are oversensitive OR the dose was too strong for you (dry pellets can cause this problem).
There is a safer way to administer the remedy, and this is clearly outlined in the Organon for us.
You will need to get a small bottle with a dropper. Dissolve 3 of the pellets into a mixture of water and alcohol inside of this bottle (5 parts to 1 part). All your doses should now come from this bottle.
Hit the bottle firmly against the palm of the hand 5 times. Place 3 drops into 100ml of water. Stir thoroughly. Take 2 teaspoons out and place them in your mouth. Hold for 20 seconds and then swallow.
Any of these steps can be further adjusted depending on your reaction. This is how we reduce the homoeopathic aggravation which is a necessary part of cure, but it is not necessary for it to be so strong.

Hello Evocationer,
I forgot to mention that I did not take dry pellets, glad i did not, I placed two pellets of 30c in a 16 ounces drinking water container, stirred, swished, swallowed, finished this within the hour. This is how I experienced the aggravations with new symptoms. I thought it was odd too that he was unwilling to explain or readjust his approach.

You had too much. When dissolved in water you should never drink the entire amount. That is a clear overdose.
How many sips did it take to finish it?
Did he give such instructions to you?

Yes I was told to place two pellets in a drinking glass, stir 30 seconds, swish, swallow. May have been 8-10 sips. Was not told not to drink all water. Then told to repeat every 4 hours, stop if I get better or worse. My symptoms before the remedy started returning, reported, then told to take the same dose again. I did not. He did not adjust. I will have to try diluted.

Then you took 8-10 doses. That is far too much of a 30c. Even in acute diseases you probably would be looking at no more than 3 in a whole day (although this does vary based on the particular patient).
If you took 8-10 sips again, then that was another 8-10 doses - that is extreme overdose. Are you sure your homoeopath is properly qualified and trained?
If you follow my instructions for dosing this will get better results. I would not take more than one dose every 4 hours, and I would not take more than 3 doses in a day. If your symptoms worsen of course stop, but if your symptoms return exactly as before with no improvement then something is wrong. Most likely the remedy is wrong, but it could be an issue with potency as well.
Without any case to work on I am only giving you all the possible options here, there may be even more considerations depending on what is going on both in your illness and in your life.

Thanks for your response Evocationer. Will this overdose pass or delay my healing? Assuming it is the right remedy, and dosage is the issue, if not the right remedy, will i go back to the previous symptoms? I seem to improve some, but then get these other symptoms. Now I see it was too much especially for me. I may have to seek another homeopath.

They should pass. The artificial disease that is created by taking a remedy is short-lived. However be aware that continually taking a medicine to palliate or suppress symptoms can actually make your whole case much worse. This is another reason why we do not prescribe so many doses so close together - to get an idea of whether the remedy is genuinely curing or not.
