6 y son with ADHD and frequent throat problems
hi i have a son aged 6 years now. since early age i think 3years he was very active. he is the always moving type. he has frequent throat problems like tonsilitis. have to give him antibiotics almost every month now. he is loving and caring. has speech problems as he cannot correctly pronounce sentences. his speech is about 60% developed i think. he has problems communicating with his peers and has a lot of trouble in early school days. i had to get him repeat his class. he faces difficulty concentrating when studying specially. he uses excessive force to snatch things out of other childrens hands if he wants them. he tries to play with much older children also without realizing they are ignoring him. pl help. will be appreciated greatlyraheelsuleman on 2016-06-19

thanks for your reply
as for his health history he has not been sick much. when he was 1 year old he got mild pnemonia. his mother is asthematic. most of the times he get tonsilitis or chest problems occasionally. he has had all his vaccinations upto his present age. he loves sweet things like juices(mango) cookies, icecream etc. he also loves to eat chicken. he plays till he get over exertion. in his early childhood he was not afraid of getting hurt or simply did not understand fear. i had to teach him that. he gets cranky and agressive when he does not get what he wants. he has a speech delay problem also and is not able to completely converse yet. he manages to get across about 60% of the message. some time he can talk simple sentences clearly but complex sentences are still a problem. he loves cartoons, likes to play constructing a house out of things moreoften. also he plays all by himself with blocks making interesting stuff he sees on tv out of them. he likes cycling a lot. running is his favourite activity. he is always walking ahead rather nearly running. he does not hold my hand in the market but prefers to walk alone doing his stuff along the way. making him study is the most difficult part i face. he cannot sit for a long time. have to focus a lot to make him focus. if i encourage him he does continue along but with difficulty. if something difficult to understand comes up he gets frustrated. when he was younger he used to lie down in the market and cry to get something. he is healthy and has a decent weight about 29kg for a 6 year old. i used straterra for a while which drastically reduced his weight and soothed him down a bit. but i want him to quit that drug. so i think i have mentioned quite enough. let me know anything specific if you require. thanks.

he is on straterra 20Mg daily in the morning. and nootropil for 2g daily in the morning for his learning / speech delay. well about his throat issues he has pain in his throat with redness in side his throat. that is all i could see inside his throat. he coughs also when this episode happens. his cough indicates as if it is productive. his chest also wheezes when this gets worse. so i just put him on antibiotics and brufen which relieves him in a week or so. but after another say 3-4 weeks the episodes reoccurs. its very frustrating. so summarizing.
===========
major symptoms:
1.hyperactivity too much overactive just cannot sit at one place for long unless he is watching cartoons or playing something of his interest.
2.language delay . his language is not clear yet. but he does manage to get his message through one way or the other. if he faces trouble he gets frustrated very easily and goes and sits alone and cries.
3.frequent throat (tonsils) and chest problems occur.
also john stanton asked as question and the answer is presently he is having that episode again although he has recovered quite a bit. the one before that was i think last month about 4 weeks ago. and similarly previous to previous month also.
also the common characteristics i think are that normally he does not become red hot to indicate high fever but he does have it and he never displays it as he is always active and playing. and when his throat goes bad his voice gets hoarse and he occasionally coughs. i think it spreads to his chest also soon enoough if not treated immed. that is why as soon as i see the symptoms i start him on the medication.
