Dr. Nawaz - Is this rectal pain a Sulphur proving?

Hello,

I gave birth on the 31st of may. The baby was vaginally delivered. An episiotomy was performed.

After a week, I started having extreme anal itching which would keep me up at night and drive me to tears. I took Sulphur 30 and had immediate relief. When it cam back the next day, I repeated the dose to the same positive result. However, there was no effect of Sulphur 30 on the third consecutive night when the itching started, so I took Sulphur 200 and have been itch free since then.

Sometime in the third week postpartum, I had mastitis symptoms. Developed a chill, fever, swollen and hot left breast etc. Took phytolacca 30 thrice overnight and was perfectly fine by morning.

The issue is I now have terrible anal pain during BMs - has been happening since the past four or five days. I dread going to the loo. After BM it lasts for several hours, making sitting or walking uncomfortable, if not exactly painful. There seems to be no bleeding.

I don't know if this is a proving of the sulphur 200 I took or a new symptom that really does need medication. If it is a proving should I try and antidote sulphur by drinking coffee? If it isn't, what medicine should I take?

Thanks so much in advance!

P.S. I am breastfeeding. Hope the medicines won't effect the baby.

"I don't know if this is a proving of the sulphur 200 I took"
It is not.

Thank you Dr. Nawaz. Could you advice on the medicine I should take at this point?

Would Arnica 30 help?

I also have stitches from the episiotomy.

15. One situation that had a
big effect on you?
My parents brought me up really well. I was working when I got married (2 years ago). However, my in-laws didn't approve of it and there were a lot of difficulties, with me having to do a lot of the housework and also keeping a full time job, plus having to bear taunts. It is culturally accepted and in fact imposed upon in India that the daughter-in-law should stay with her in-laws.

Anyways, my dad was my constant support at this difficult time. He passed away suddenly due to a heart attack six months after my marriage.

Besides losing my sole supporter, I also overnight found myself responsible for my mother and brothers. However, my visits to my mom's place were frowned upon at my in-laws place. I used to be terrified to ask them if I could go. My mom had gone into depression and I also had to sort out my dad's financial stuff. It was tough.

It got too much. I used to cry every night because the pressure was getting to me. I was afraid I'd slip into depression myself. I finally decided it was enough and told my husband we had to move out. We moved out one year into our marriage. It wasn't easy, but at least I have my peace of mind now.

I am still terrified when I have to go visit my in-laws (which is every weekend.) They insist on it. But the six months after my father's passed away were the worst of my life.

16. Important Question.
Current and previous remedies/medicines you are taking or took in the past?

My dad had given me Sepia (1 M) before my marriage and I had taken it once after. I was a very remote person, nothing would move me. I was also irritable and very rude. Sepia helped. I have been in homeopathic treatment since childhood - don't know what medicines I've been given all along.

Current meds taken:
Staph 30 - three doses for the episiotomy. Taken four weeks ago
Sulphur 30 - Two doses. Three weeks ago. For anal itching.
Sulphur 200 - One dose. Three weeks ago. For anal itching.
Phytolacca 30 - Three doses. Two weeks ago. For mastitis.

17. Educational Qualifications of the patient
Graduation in Life Science and Biochemistry

18. Nature of work, what do you do for living?
I am a Product Manager. I started off a content writer, but I learn quickly and communicate well. Learned everything there was to learn at my current company and evolved into the role of a Product Manager where I am overseeing half of the modules of our product.

The job is sedentary. It is in the IT field and involves thinking and communicating.

19. Important Question.
Mind-behavior, anger, irritability, hurry,
impatient…and so on.. How are you different from other persons, public speaking or not, you can describe all of the details about your behavior, love and affections.

I am a good communicator. Lots of people have said they like my personality, even though I do no make up at all and wear a long flowing hijab. I speak well at public presentations, but I have a tendency to speak very fast.

I am very independent. Feel like I have to do everything myself and nobody ever lends me a helping hand. Which has been true given my circumstances so far. I do take on more things than one person can possibly do, but I do complete those things and do them well.

I used to be irritable, but not any longer. I think I don't care.

I don't get attached to people. My feelings are very shallow. I now have a baby, but I don't feel as much love as I think moms are supposed to feel. Even with my husband, though I try to be really affectionate, I feel I am faking it, because I really don't feel any deep emotion.

I don't hate anyone either. I think I just don't care.

20. Color of the secretions/discharges e.g
Pus, urine, stool, sputum, Saliva etc.

All normal.

For Females Only
21. When is the period during the month approx. date?
I get my periods every 25 days. They are very regular and exact on time.

Any monthly cycle issues? Regular, early, late, before problems, after problems,
pain, any other discharges?
None.

AoA, May Allah SWT bless you pain free life soon Insha'Allah.

Please take Staphysagria 200C, 4 drops mixed in 2 sips of mineral water, 1 time a day, for 3 days.

When were the antibiotics taken, if any?

When was the last period completed?

Any bleeding with stool?

Please buy Ignatia Amara 200C, Lycopodium 1M and Arsenicum Album 200C for later use.

Many prayers for your good health and happy life.

nawazkhan 7 years ago
It would be nice to also have Hypericum 200C handy at home.

nawazkhan 7 years ago
Wa alaikum as salam,

Thank you Dr. Nawaz for your prayers!

I have all of these meds as pills at home. Would those do?

I was prescribed antibiotics to be taken for a week after my daughter's birth, so about four weeks ago.

My last period was prior to my pregnancy. I think it was completed on the 22nd of September.

No bleeding with stool. Also, stools are regular. No constipation.

JazakAllah!

AoA, You are welcome!

"I have all of these meds as pills at home. Would those do? "
Yes, but, it will be less effective. Dissolve 4 pills in 2 sips of mineral water to make one dose.

In addition to the above suggested remedies, please buy Aesculus Hippocastanum Q as well.

More prayers for your speedy recovery.

Waswrwb :)

Reporting in after the first dose of Staphysagria 200C.

Took it yesterday morning. Took the second dose just now.

My episiotomy wound was itching a lot last night (It used to itch for a few days in the 3rd week post partum, but had stopped)

I didn't have BM yesterday. I have, otherwise, been very regular with daily BMs.

Utomp 7 years ago
AoA,
Thanks to Allah SWT.

"I didn't have BM yesterday."
Not caused by the remedy you took. Did you eat Nan(s) or Rice in Iftari or Sahoor?

You may also take Alumina 200C as needed for constipation.

Many prayers for your good health and happy life.

nawazkhan 7 years ago
As salam u alaikum, Dr. Nawaz!

Reporting in after the second dose.

The episiotomy wound isn't uncomfortable anymore. Alhumdulillah, much better on that front.

Had BM last night. Pain was minimal and lasted for just a few minutes afterwards, instead of hours. Maybe Staph acted on that too, or the one day of no BM helped it heal. :) Alhumdulillah.

Jazakallah Khair, Dr. Nawaz. Taking dose 3 now.

P.S. Had not taken Alumina.

WAA,

Thanks to Allah Taa'ala.

What are the current Mind symptoms in detail?

What ate the worries, fears, concerns and issues at this time?

Did you get any Eidi in advance yet?

More prayers for you.

nawazkhan 7 years ago
As salam u alaikum Dr. Nawaz!

Hope you had a blessed Eid. Sorry I didn't reply. Was staying at my mother's place post delivery, but had gone to my in-laws' for Eid. Just got back yesterday.

To answer your question, my mental symptoms vary depending on where I am. They are worst when I am at my in-laws and best when I am either at work or my own house.

I need freedom and independence. There are a lot of constraints and restrictions at my in-laws. My emotional symptoms are always at their worst when I am there. I cannot freely step out of the house or rest. They have expectations of what a daughter-in-law should do and express displeasure if I don't abide by those unspoken expectations. It's very exhausting. I cry myself to sleep there and tend to behave very timidly.

I wish to be more firm without coming across as aggressive or rude.

I understand this may come across as an overview answer. I don't know how to add more depth to it. Would answer any clarifications or additional info you may need.

WAA, Shukar Alhamdulillah, I had a great Eid. Thanks.

So, how do you feel now? What is the pain condition and other Physical symptoms?

What remedies have been taken for the last 5 days?

More prayers for you.

nawazkhan 7 years ago
As salam u alaikum.

I feel good overall.

I've started going for morning and evening walks, something I never used to do before.

Physical complaints:
-I have been feeling a cold coming on for about three days..slight sore throat, a couple of sneezes. (We have the rainy season going on here and the flu is a common complaint for most people at this time)
-Everytime I have a BM, I feel that a new fissure is forming. The pain is not as excruciating as it was earlier. Also, the pain does not continue after the BM. Alhumdulillah.
-I get a tooth ache whenever I forget to take the Calcium supplement the doctor has given, since I am breastfeeding. My left wisdom teeth are the ones that pain.
-Itching in the creases where the thigh meets the groin area. Happens only at night when I go to bed.

Also, I have very strong craving for sweet foods.

While at my in-laws, I slipped on a wet floor pretty badly. Hurt my knee and hip. Took two doses of Arnica 30 on two consecutive days. Knee still pains a bit. Looks bruised and red.

Nursing a gassy tummy right now, but I suppose that will go in a little while. Probably something I ate. :)

Jazakallah Khair Dr. Nawaz!

In this case, in my considered opinion, please see a good doctor face to face to solve your complex problems. Sorry, I will not be able to give more help.

nawazkhan 7 years ago
As salam u alaikum Dr. Nawaz,

Was your above message in reply to riyazahmad5's question?

Also, reporting in. Took Lycopodium 1M two days ago.
-Feel that I've gotten very lazy.
-Was constipated. Had BM last night, felt it caused a rectal fissure. There was pain for quite a while afterwards too.
-Got the cold that I had felt coming on before I took Lyco. It lasted three days (is almost gone now). I had accompanying pain in the right eye and right, front part of the head.

Nothing else to report at the moment.

Yes

AoA,

If not in period, then, please take Berberis Vulgaris 1x, 11 drops mixed in 1/4th glass of mineral water, 2 times a day, for 2 days?

Many prayers for you Utomp.

nawazkhan 7 years ago
WAA Dr. Nawaz

I don't have my periods, but my bleeding post delivery hasn't stopped. There's still slight bleeding daily. Should I still take the med?

Utomp 7 years ago
"Should I still take the med?"
No
Please report all symptoms on time.
Please take Pulsatilla 200c, 4 drops mixed in 2 sips of mineral water, 1 time a day, for 3 days.

Many prayers for you.

nawazkhan 7 years ago
I'm not a homeopathic, but I really want to say I know what you are going through and hope all the best for you. Pelvic floor dysfunction caused by giving birth usually causes spasms and that makes bm difficult, so getting the muscles relaxed is very important.

Many prayers for you.
