The ABC Homeopathy Forum

Homeopathy is not for everyone

I understand that many people report positive outcomes from homeopathy and I congratulate them. I tried it and I had a bad experience. I personally found that homeopathy is not as safe and gentle as advertised. I had an adverse reaction (not an aggravation) from a remedy provided by a homeopathic physician. I developed a severe, burning itch, twenty minutes after taking the remedy, in his office. I NEVER had this condition at anytime in my life. For the next several weeks, the burning itch worsened, covering my entire body (without a rash). The doctor’s answer was to try different remedy pills. A total of five different remedies were tried, to stop the itching caused by the first pill. None of them worked. The burning itch became a chronic, painful, sensation over my entire body, affecting my sleep and daily activities. Through all this. there was absolutely no improvement in the medical condition that brought me to homeopathy. If anything, my health is worse. Homeopathy states that patients may experience “temporary” exacerbation of symptoms. This is far from a temporary exacerbation. I am still suffering from the severe burning itch, 58 days after taking the first remedy and I have not received any further relief. I lost trust in homeopathy and my homeopath. I do not recommend homeopathy and caution anyone considering it. I am now hoping to find a medical treatment to undo the burning itch,

DThomas:

Hopefully one of the qualified homeopaths that volunteers their time on this forum will respond to your request and give you some advice. I am not a homeopath but another individual who has had a bad experience from homeopathy. Unfortunately I am unable to give you any advice as to how to deal with your current situation.

Based on my experience I generally advise people at the very least to read Dr Luc De Schepper's article "Selecting a Homeopath" before trying homeopathy. Finding a good homeopath does not guarantee the homeopath is going to be able to help you but it is important to find a homeopath that is not going to harm you.
