Consultation required from Dr Jitesh only for ADHD patient (with a brief history of tonic-clonic and absence seizure)Dear Dr Jitesh,
My name is Aqueel, and with this post, I seek your support for my son Muzammil.
Muzammil was born on 24th May 2013, almost on the planned delivery date.
Prior to his birth, Muzammil had his umbilical cord wrapped around his neck during 5-6 month of pregnancy. His movement was slowed down, for which my wife was under clinical observation for an overnight. Later it came back to normal and she was discharged.
A day before his planned delivery, his movement was slowed down again. My wife was rushed to emergency delivery and Muzammil was born, though he didn't cried much. He was moved to NICU and it was told that he had Meconium Aspiration Syndrome (MAS), due to which he had inhaled meconium-stained amniotic fluid. The oxygen capacity of lung was reduced to 10%. He was in NICU for 8 days, and each day his lungs capacity was getting better by 10%. He was discharged when his lung's oxygen capacity reached 90%.
There on he had a normal life, though even after 1 year he was not blabbering the first few words that generally kids do.
We waited for another year and still he was not picking up initial words. Though there was no issue in his normal activities. He was good and active with normal growth of weight and height.
In May 2015 we had his speech assessment performed for which it was identified that he has some issue in speech. Doctor suggested to go for a MRI.
We got the MRI done and it was revealed that the part of brain that controls motor action has some dead cells. That was the reason for the delay of speech.
Then on, in August during a mid-night, he went completely in hallucination, for around 20 mins. He was not responding to any calls, but was just staring in one direction. We rushed him to hospital, there he got tonic clonic seizures. This seizure lasted for around 20 mins.
He was discharged after 2 days and then we got the allopathic medication to control seizures.
We moved to US and there we had some advanced tests done. It was suggested that his DNA has some sequence missing and that is why he is having all these issues. Still he was not occupationally well as compared to other kids of his age.
In Oct 2016, he again went absent for around 1 hour. It was later revealed that he was having absence seizure attack. He was discharged after a day of observation. Some tests were further performed but there was nothing significant.
We moved back to India in 2017 and since then we are trying to get him behaviorally settled. But later it was again diagnosed that he is suffering from ADHD too. That is why he is not able to concentrate on anything due to which he is slow in picking up things. Now he is on medication of seizure and ADHD.
Recently we have started homeopathic medicine where doctor has suggested some 6 medicine to be given to him on certain frequency.
My friend (who has consulted you in past) suggested me to consult you.
Below please find some key observations in my kid.
Age - 6 years (to be on 24th May).
Weight - around 25 Kgs.
Height - as per age.
Generally he jump on his toes, or walk mostly on toes. When excited, he start jumping on his toes.
He is still on diapers. He cannot tell his basic needs, though now a days he has started suggesting if he needs to go to toilet. But that is not always. Someone has to wash his clean once he is done with the toilet.
He is excited when put in company of kids. If he is in playful mood then we will catch other boys around their neck, causing them choke. He even pushes kids when excited. This has caused injuries to others.
His memorization is good. He can memorize verses and repeat them.
Now he has started taking instructions, but he can take only small instructions. If we give me long instruction then he will pick only a certain part of it and will forget rest.
He shows emotional imbalance. At times he starts crying for no reason. Like if he sees me after few days, or he was scolded at home and I come back from office, or just for no reason. But this happens sometimes.
Now he can recognize a few alphabets.
He cannot write. Though his grip is good. He cannot make proper standing line or slant line. Till now he is trying to write A and B.
He goes to playgroup classes. In school he behaves normally. Only thing is he is 3.5 years behind his age. And this gap in increasing every month/year.
We are almost done with all we could do and in desperate need of help.
Can you please take up this case.
