Severe acute sinusitis
Respected doctor,I'm a 38 year old mother of 3. I got a severe flu:mild fever, severe cough stuffy nose, mainly severe headache. Loss of appetite, No loss of smell. Tiredness, weaknessdesire to lie down all the time.
Today is day 5. Cough has reduced. But sinus pain is still very strong. Blocked sinuses and fully inflamed. Pain on one side, pressure, cheekbones, gum and tooth, behind eyeball pain. Constantly stuffed nose with yellowish thick mucus. Steaming brings relief and hot pack on the affected side of the face helps mobilise the mucus.
I am consuming homemade kaada (ajwain ginger pepper turmeric tulsi) or echinacea tea, warm water. I drink coffee but eat a vegetarian diet with no dairy. I am taking paracetamol for pain relief.
Please advice what I can do to address this sinus problem. I rarely get ill (first time to have flu in years). I had covid some months ago but recovered in 4 days.
But i have had sinus problem before even without flu (maybe it was allergic rhinitis previously ) and I wish to address this problem so that I can prevent recurrence. I live in a moist humid climate (uk) where it is currently been raining since last week.
Many thanks
