Drowning in mucus
Hi, I have had this problem now for about 2 years and it seems to be getting slowly worse.Every morning I wake up and it feels like I have been swiming and swallowed a lot of water during my sleep. I am always trying to get something of my chest but nothing appears. If I blow my nose not a lot of stuff comes out but if I snort to try and bring it into my throat I always get mucus stuff.
Also about once every week or 2 I choke on my own mucus and I mean choke its a horrible feeling a few times this has happen I can honestly say I thought that was it Iam going to die. But lucky some has been there to hit me on the back.
I have been to a specialist and they have put cameras down my lungs etc. I was told that I have a slightly enlarge epeglotis (not sure how to spell it) and I was then told that they could do nothing with my problem which he said comes and goes. But thath is not true I have this problem all of the time. Every day for the last 2 years. I was told I had asthma and now they have told that I have not got asthma. I am fed up of going to the doctors as I feel I have lived there for the last 2 years. I am slowly feeling more and more desperate as it is not getting any better.
Any ideas would be grateful.
Many Thanks.

HOw's your diet?
Mucus forming foods such as any grain containing gluten (wheat, rye, oats..) and cow's milk , also red meats, nuts, eggs and refined sugars + all dairy in general should be eliminated from the diet.
Excess phlegm in lungs = weak digestion (especially if your tongue coating is greasy and white, have a look !)
Foods that will break down and expel this mucus as follows -
ALL PUNGENT foods like onion, garlic, watercress, fresh ginger, radish, green veg, fruits. HERBS like Mullein, nettle.
Make yourself a fresh lemon and ginger tea each morning.
Eat small meals and often and chew your food well.
Diet is the cornerstone of any long term treatment, and without addressing dietary issues, really stubborn issues take much much longer to yield.
Important to know more about KIND of mucus as asked by Rishimba - colour + texture v. important to know.

Hi,
Iam not sure how it started. But before I got these symptons I had mild bronchitus and then when ever I got a cold I could gaurantee that I would get a chest infection within 3 days of getting any kind of cold and I would have to go onto antibiotics etc. Then one time I had a cold and a chest infection followed I went to the docotors and was told that it would go within 2 weeks and I should sit it out as it was a virus. ha. Unfortunately he was wrong and my infection got worse and I got steriods with my prescription due to the fact it had got so bad and to top it of 3 days later I got a condition called piterearosa(not sure if this is how its spelt). Which is a condition where there is no cure and they don't know why you get it. But to me it seem that if they would have given my the antibiotics straight away I would hve not got it. It took approx 3 months for it to got. It is a condition where it puts red looking sores of the chest and neck area, there is one large sore and all the rest are smaller. But that has got thank god.
But this was before I started to get my current problems. Maybe something to do with it I don't know.
The mucus is mixed realy some days its just normal clear slightly thicker than I had before this problem and then other days its just like glue and quite thick sometimes slightly green but very sticky and hard to clear.
My nose seems to be always blocked someway or another. I have even bought them nasal breathing strips for when I sleep now.
I am mostly very happy go lucky person always having a laugh its the only thing I suppose that keeps me going.
I am trying to do more exercise but its hard as I can get of of breath pretty quickly a ride round the block normally makes me very out of breath.
I get very cold feet and hands most of the time.
Sometimes when I get home from work I have to have a sleep for an hour or 2 and then Iam fine running around having a laugh etc.
How am I different from other mentally. Well people have said that how do I manage to be happy all of the time etc.
Diet I eat normally I think? Sunday lunch pasta a couple a times a week fish a couple of times.
My tongue does get white but not to bad I normally just brush my tongue in the mornings anyway.
I have 2 sugars in my tea and coffee. Most days I have ready break for breakfast. I have moved onto brown bread for sandwiches.

first, take a dose of NUX VOM 30C on any evening in empty stomach.
next day, start treatment with KALIUM BICHROMICUM 30C.
take 3 times a day for a few days ( 3 to 4 ).
when you observe some improvements in the morning, reduce it to 2 times and then 1 time daily till you are not completely cured of this problem.
if you dont get any relief at all in next 4 to 5 days, come back to me.
