numbness in penis

My partner was a cyclist for a number of years. Currently he is a technology support employee and spents alot of his time sitting.

Over the past few years, he has experienced 'numbness' in his penis. This happens at a variety of times:

**when he first wakes
**during intercourse
**after intercourse
**at work

He is 33; Between his research and mine, we believe we have it narrowed. It is either related to his cycling/and or to a possible hyrnia. We plan on going to the Doctor, but I like to know what to expect before I go, just so I can ask the appropriate questions.
