Thrush
Me and my 7 week old keep getting thrush. I treat it and we are thrush free for a week or so and get it again. Is there anything I can take to prevent it?hnb13 on 2006-08-19

Dear Hnb13,
Please read this.Hope this will help you.
People with recurrent outbreaks of oral thrush, or those who are at very high risk for development of the disorder, may be given prophylactic (preventive) antifungal medications. If an infant who is breast feeding has oral thrush, the mother also should use a topical antifungal medication on her nipples to prevent continuous spread to the infant.
In bottle-fed babies, discard the nipples and buy new ones as the babies mouth begins to clear because the fungus may get into the nipples and can not be easily eradicated.
If you want to be treated Homoeopathically then contact me.

I have used the prescribe meds and it cures it temporarily.
I was hoping there was a homeopathic cure that would rid us of this reoccuring issue.
He is 7 wks old and breastfeed and I would love any advice you have.
Thank you very much!

Dear hnb13,
I advise you to give Mercurius Sol. 30C one dose(disolve 6-10 pellets in 5ml of drinking water) early morning for 5 days and report.

I too have had thrush of the nipple and breast in my two previous children. Fluconazole was unable to rid it and I have now developed it at 5 weeks and hope that maybe yr advice to hnb13 or indeed another suggestion may be of use. I have emailed you more detail in private but was hoping that if anybody is in a similar situation they could benefit from yr response. thanking you.
