Bad cough

My Mom of 65 yrs is having bad cough for a couple of months now.The cough comes on suddenly, mostly while talking or lying down. Produces small white mucous occasionally,mostly it is dry. Worsens upon entering in a warm room(kitchen). Feels as if vomiting will occur during cough but nothing happens. Fears that urine may pass out. Symptoms were relieved after an attack of cold, but came back.Develops runny nose for a while after coughing. Feels flow of mucous from back of nose while lying(occasionally). Has pilesas another problem, can not tolerate anything of hot character(spices, ginger garlic,pepper etc. as also strong allopathic medicines)
