vitamin c deficiency
have allergy to citric acid, corn, soy, rice, eggs, milk, yeast, ect.... bottom line is I need to know where and how to get my vitamin c so I don't get scurvy. cannot eat it in food because once cooked it dies. hate raw vegtables, and have allergy to all citris and citrate additives. Anyone know a supplement that is allergen free of all above mentioned? where to get it? please~~desparate. no health Ins either. Faithyfaithy on 2006-10-09
This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Try very small dosage of esterfied C (Ester C) available at any health food store.Ask them for something with no additives.Ask them for the smallest dosage units available.Start with one each 3rd night before bed.Yes vitamin C does good at night has mild sedative qualities. The added calcium helps to protect from sensitivity to acidity since it makes it relatively ph neutral. The reason every 3rd night is to allow ample time to test for reaction.Increase over long period of time ever carefully pay attention to your body.I don't believe anyone can tell you the perfect ultimate dosage.Though some experts agree that the highest possible dose that DOES NOT cause diarhea is optimal.Call my information in to an M.D. or Nurse Practitioner verify.Curiously Indians helped early settlers reverse scurvy with Cedar Tree Tea (Thuja) In all likelihood you would be allergic to this as well unless your allergies were related to some yet undiscovered intestinal critters in which case Thuja tea used sparingly would do you a world of good.Once again verify Pattee

Dear Pattee.
Excellent advice on the Vit C, specially the use of Ester-C, which is far superior, but Thuja tea!!
Thuja is one of the most highly medicinal plants known to man, and in potency, without doubt one of our stongest and deepest acting of remedies, it should never be used unless indicated, even in crude form. It's actually borderline poisonous too...
