Operation on abdomen

I will be having an op on my stomach which will leave a scar.
I would like to know what remedies would help in the healing process including how often the remedy should be taken and which potency should be taken.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Staphysagria is considered to be the best medicine for the after effects of cuts with sharp instruments (as is the case with operations).

You can take in 200 potency 3 times a day, after the operation is over.(Not more than 6 doses.)

I am copying a post that I made on another BB of my experience with Arnica before and after surgery which may be of interest.

Arnica after surgery
------------------------------------------------------------------------
I had an Epidural Prostatectomy 2 years ago and took Arnica 200c the night before and again on the morning of the surgery. When I regained conciousness I discovered that my IV was connected to a syringe of Morphine which had been liberally used by the nursing staff who instructed me in its usage. I requested them to disconnect it and took 2 balls of Arnica 30 every 2 hours instead. It is remarkably how it reduced the pain and helped in the healing process and this was noted by the surgeon and staff.

I continued this dosage for 5 days when I was discharged. I used Arnica on a reduced dosage 3 times daily for 2 weeks and later just once daily at night every since.

I surprised the nursing staff when I got out of bed on the second day after surgery and walked to the toilet. They were all surprised to see a 73 year old recover so quickly after major surgery.

All Homeopathic Remedies should be placed under the tongue when they will dissolve in about 5 minutes. No coffee, cola drinks and preserved meats like bacon and sausages which contain Saltpeter may be used.

Arnica looks to be your favourite, and ofcourse with enough reason.

Arnica is useful in all trauma situations and operation can be considered a kind of trauma, and as such can be useful.

I have discovered so many uses for Arnica, some that are not recorded in the texts, that it is, as you mentioned, my favourite remedy. You may be interested to know the many ailments for which I have used this Miracle Remedy.

Urine flow easing (before Prostatectomy)
Urine Incontinence (6x)
Alopecia (stops loss of hair and promotes new growth)
Blepharitis, Chalazions and Styes
Jet Lag
Cellulitis
Insomnia
Healing of wounds especially after surgery

I am copying some information on Arnica which I picked up off the web which may be of interest:

Arnica is also commonly called leopard's bane. The arnica plant has a bright yellow, daisy-like flower that blooms around July. Preparations made from the flowering heads have been used in homeopathic medicine for hundreds of years. It is popular in Germany and over 100 drug preparations are made from the plant. Arnica is a perennial that is protected in parts of Europe.

The active components in arnica are sesquiterpene lactones, which are known to reduce inflammation and decrease pain. Other active principals are thymol (an essential oil), flavonoids, inulin, carotenoids and tannins.

Arnica works by stimulating the activity of white blood cells that perform much of the digestion of congested blood, and by dispersing trapped, disorganized fluids from bumped and bruised tissue, joints and muscles.

Arnica is known to stimulate blood circulation and can raise blood pressure, especially in the coronary arteries. The plant is used externally for arthritis, burns, ulcers, eczema and acne. It has anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory qualities that can reduce pain and swelling, improving wound healing.

Part Used: Extract of the blossoms

Common use: It is typically rubbed on the skin to soothe and heal bruises, sprains, and relieve irritations from trauma, arthritis and muscle or cartilage pain. Applied as a salve, arnica is also good for chapped lips, irritated nostrils and acne.

Care: Grows in moist, sandy soil with adequate drainage. Likes full sun.

Toxicity: The internal use of Arnica is not suggested. It can cause vomiting, weakness, increased heart rate and nervous disturbances.
