6X / 6C what's the difference?

I have a boiron kit for allergies that works very well for my wife. Its the first thing that has given her relief in years. I have found another product that is a combination pill. It has all the same ingredients in the pill that the kit contains and a few more. The thing that I need to know is that lets say for the Boiron kit Apis Mellifica is at 30C. In the combo pill the Apis Mellifica is shown at 2X, 10X, 30X. What does this mean and what is the difference?

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.

Dilution and sucussion on each stage of the pill production is shown by the number and letter.

x-- is a dilution of 10
c-- is a dilution of 100

So 30x is 30 times 10
30c is 30 times 100.

This is the third time I am correcting you.Haha.

1x=10
2x=1c=100
3x=1000
4x=2c=10000
5x=10000
6x=3c=1000000

in mathemetical terms it is known as to the power of.

So,1c=100 100 to the power of 1
2c=10000 100 to the power of 2

3c= 1000000 100 to the power of 3.

so 30c= 100 to the power of 30.

It is 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 th dilution.

X potencies are 10 to the power of.

So,in terms of dilution 30x=15c, but the potency is slightly different as the number of succcussions are more in case of 30x.

So, you should say, 30c is 100 to the power of 30. Not 30 times 100.

Am I clear?

Yes, I think I have this now. Just want to make sure though. So 30X would be more potent ( or less diluted) than 30C, correct?
Also, when I look at the label of a product and it says lets say, Apis Mellifica 2X, 12X, 30X what does this mean? IS this the potential of what this ingredient could be or are these solid figures?

In homeopathy, the more the dilution, the more powerful is the medicine.

So,30c is more potent than 30x.

Apis 2x,12x, and 30x means all the three potencies are combined.That means three dilutions of Apis are seperatley made 2x,12x, and 30x. Then all the three liquids are mixed together, and the resultant mixture,is used to saturate the pellets.

It is generally made with the belief that 2x works for certain problems,12x for some other problems, and 30x for another set of problems. The manufacturers believe that, by combining potencies like this, the range of action of the medicine is enhanced.

But, this is not proper homeopathy, and still, some people swear that it works.

Then let me ask you this. I have run across an allergy product that has this for ingredients:

Apis mellifica 2X, 10X, 30X (A dilution of Bee)
Apisinum 12X, 15X, 30X (A dilution of Bee venom) with strong action on eye allergies
Allium cepa 3X (A dilution of Red onion) indicated for runny nose and red eyes with tears and burning of the eyelids
Euphrasia 3X (A dilution of Eyebright) indicated for watery eyes and runny nose
Sabadilla 3X (A dilution of Asagraea officinalis) indicated for hay-fever, runny nose and sneezing
Euphorbium 6X (A dilution of Euphorbia resinifera) for coryza, sinus conditions and spasmodic cough
Pulsatilla 6X (A dilution of Wind flower) for itching and burning eyes, coryza, dry cough, lung conditions
Histaminum 6X,12X( A dilution of Histamine)

What my wife takes now is a combination of three seperate things:

Apis Mellifica 30C
Galphimia glauca 6C
Histaminium Hydrochloricum 30C

In your opinion, Murthy, do you think she is better off taking the three seperate ingredients she is taking now, or the combination pill?

Also, do you know of a good allergy medicine that is truly effective as a combination pill.

If the seperate ingredients are better, do you know of a place that I could buy the granuals in larger containers than 80 or 100?

I normally don't advocate combination medicines.Best thing is to see a proper qualified classical homeopath, who advises one medcine at a time.

1M(1000 C) has much more dilution than 3c,and hence is more potent.

I've read X is the same as C, but X is used in USA and C (and CH) in Europe. And then there's D. Or is it X=D? (like D = decimal; 10 = X in roman numbers). Eeehm, I think I'm getting a little confused :)))

X and C are made differently.

You are right in saying X=D

X potencies are in the 10th scale. and C potencies are in the 100th scale.

Otherthan CH, there are CK potencies also.I am adding to your confusion.:)
