Help - Allergies for 9 year oldThis is for my 9 1/2 year old son, who has been suffering from allergies all along. He is allergic to grass, tree, weed, dust, mold..year round allergies. Symptoms are itchy eyes, stuffy nose, runny nose...when it becomes worse it will lead to clearing of throat. The symptoms seem to get worse in cold. It's worse (ie on seeing bright lights. He suffers year-round. Usually it is worst when he wakes up. We have allergic matress case etc., humidifier, air cleaner/filter in his room. He had severe eczema, now only small patches behind knee/elbow. His immunity is less, he is very quickly prone to a cold, which very soon becomes congestion in chest. As a baby he used to have wheezing, has not had wheezing for 4 years.
We tried NAET (accupressure), some relief.
When he has the allergic symptoms, he is angry, whiny, less confident. He is reserved in the beginning, but has lot of friends. He enjoys going to new places. he is doing well in studies.
He has strong cravings for sugar, fatty food. He sleeps well. He is somewhat chubby. He drinks a lot of water.
Based on a recent skin test for allergies:
Tree mix 3++; bermuda 3+; Grass mix 1+; RW mix 2+, Engl. plantain 3+; weed mix #3 +-; dock/sorrel mix 2+; alt tenius 1+; fusarium mix 1+; aspergillius mix 2++; helminthsporium sativum 1+; cat 4+; mite farinae 2+; mite pteony 2+; cockroach 1; maple/box elder mix 1+; egg white 2; milk 1+; wheat 1+; soybean 3+; oat 2+; peanut 2+;
Father has hay fever during spring, mom has some dust allergy. My husband's nephew has very similar allergies as my son. No neurological disorders.
Will homeopathy bring relief to symptoms? Or will homeopathy actually cure him?

if he gets relief, wrap up by giving SILICEA 1M one dose the next week.

our son is only 2, but developed horrible eczema from food allergies at 4 months. Homeopathy has completely cleared him, except for some occaisonal hives, which we are working on. It takes time and patience, and the remedy must be carefully chosen. So far our son has had 3 different remedies. I think its great that people on this list will try to help you, like rishimba, but think you should also find a good local homeopath who can take a really indepth look at your child.
our son is so much better thanks to homeopathy, but, we also are extrememly careful about his diet, making sure he gets pure food, free of processed additives or allergic foods, so that he can heal.

U should preferably give the medicine at bedtime, 1 hr after meal. Then he should go to bed !!
He will be fine.

Rishimba, thank you for your recommendation. We checked out silicea. amazing how many of the symnpotoms match with those of my son's. I have heard that sometimes when using homeopathy, the symptoms get wors...if this happens, isit ok to use any other medicine (e.g. benadryl?). Also is there a food or anything that my son should avoid, during the weeks while he is taking the medicine. Please advise.

Thank you for your encouragement, so heartening to see that homeopathy has helped your son's eczema.
Yes, we will also try to look for a local homeopath.

Thank yor for your recommendation.
We are suprised with your remedy - Thyroidinum 1M..and your method is so simple...just one day!?! We didn't even think that there was anything wrong with our son's thyroid...but maybe that is how homeopathy works - on signs and symptoms. Since this is only for one day, can we try the thyroidinum before starting on the silicea (rishimba's recc.)?
Thank you very much.
