Physostigma & myopia, help!

I have myopia and am trying to improve my vision naturally. So far I managed to improve just under 2D which I was pleased with but obviously want normal/perfect vision.

I read about physostigma 6C maybe helping myopia and gave that a try. I only took it for under a week, once each day, but I have noticed that my vision seems a lot worse. I am annoyed about this as it seems to have undone my improvement so far and my vision in poor light now is terrible :( It was about 3 weeks ago that I took the remedy but my eyesight seems not to have returned to its improved state that I had before.

I was reading a bit of info last night which said that Atropia was the antidote to Physostigma, but it said that Phys. constricts the pupil and Atro. dilates it...and my pupils seem either normal sized or larger than normal.

Should I return back to my improved sight after a while or do I need to antidote it with Atro? I need some kind of guidance so that I don't make my eyesight worse!

Can someone please help?!

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
It is not the reaction of physostigma.
For improvement of eyesight you can try euphrasia 6c and ruta 6c, alternate twice daily for a long time. Some people got benefit of this prescription.
It has clinical evidence only.

U have taken correct medicine, no need to worry but dosage is mistaken.

U have to be patient coz Physostigma can cure myopia after 1yr

Thank you both for your input. I appreciate it! As I already have the Physostigma 6C I will continue with that for the moment. drprodip what did you mean by the dosage is mistaken? What should the dosage be?

Also, have either of you seen improvement in myopia from this remedy (or the Ruta/Euphrasia combination)? I am moderately myopic, was previously -5 and now am between -4 and -3 and hope to improve even more. It would be encouraging if I knew other people had improved their vision through homeopathy.

I have been taking Physostigma 6c for quite some time (~7 months). I have noticed that my eyes are not tired from overuse. I find my vision the same in terms of perscription, however, find that my vision is much sharper perhaps because my eyes don't feel tired anymore. I am approaching 50, therefore, am not expecting much improvement in perscription but I feel overall better from taking Physostigma.

Just curious, what methods did you use to get your vision to improve and over what duration.

Thanks.

RB123 it's great to hear from someone taking physostigma. Do you mind telling me if you're short sighted, long sighted or presbyopic (use reading glasses)?

I am more than willing to share the info about which methods I've been using but it is difficult to summarise them in a few sentences so bear with me.

Last October I discovered that you could improve your eyesight so I began with a book called Improve Your Vision Without Glasses or Contact Lenses which I purchased from America (I think it's available on Amazon). It's a series of techniques and exercises aimed at improving your focussing and decreasing strain whilst increasing relaxation. You do them for 30mins each day. I started at a shortsighted prescription of -5 and did this book for a month whilst wearing a weaker lens than my normal one (to leave room for my eyes to adjust themselves). I wore a -4 lens and tested my sight using a chart every now and then. I found by the end of the month that my eyes were seeing clearly through the -4 lens (20/20) which I later had confirmed by an optician.

After that I got bored of the book and tried different things like supplements and the Bates method (this is all about learning to relax your eye muscles by getting your mind under proper control).

I have noticed that when I do a 5 day detox using N-Acetyl Cysteine, Vitamins C and E with the necessary rubbish cut from my diet that my eyesight improves and sharpens up. The best eyesight I have had yet is around -3 or -3.5 in the past year which I was happy with by a lazy diet and rubbish eye habits creeping back in have brought me down slightly.

I can be of more help to you if you let me know which of the above eye conditions you have ie. short or long sight

Could you tell me also what strength of lenses you wear and how you notice your vision is sharper. Do you wear glasses and notice they're too strong, or do you never wear glasses and notice things just look better? I hope you will give me a few more details on the positive effect of physostigma because I really am curious as to its effect on vision problems.

Thanks :)

It might be helpful to know that I wore glasses for 10 years to get to that prescription and I'm 23 now.

In all the time I was getting new glasses I never got a prescription that was lower than my previous one, so I am happy that it's decreasing but want to carry on and see how far I can get as there are people who've come back from -5 to get normal vision.

I am short-sighted (myopia) and have some astigmatism. Both my eyes are around -8D.

Thanks.

My son is 9 years old and has severe myopia so TheMoonandthestars it is really encouraging to know that you were able to reduce your prescription. I am really interested in knowing about your 5 day detox program. Could you explain what you mean by doing 5 day detox using NAC, C and E. What potency did you use for these supplements and how many times ina day.
Thanks in advance!!!

Before I explain this I must stress that the detox isn't a substitute for doing vision work as I did (and am still doing) and it might not even work if your son already has a good diet.

I used 600mg of NAC twice a day, 100mg Vitamin E and 500mg Vitamin C - for 5 days. I drank 2L of water every day (important as you need to drink more when taking NAC) and cut out white flour, dairy products, sugar, meat, processed foods etc. I ate nice fresh foods and lots of fruit and veg. I am not advising this for your 9 year old as I have no idea if this is suitable.

Let me know how he gets on if you find out it is suitable and do try it :) I guess if the supplements aren't appropriate maybe you could try like a month's detox of just the dietary suggestions as I am 100% sure things like sugar don't help vision in any way so cutting them out may help alone.

Thank you Moonandthe stars for your caring input. I totally understand your concern.I am not going to try this detox coctail on my son as he is too young for all this.

Thanks again!!!

I agree...although have a look for The Bates Method and try that out on him as it will help :)

Hello Friend

My Son is 7 years old and has already developed high Myopia. I know this post is very old but came across it on the net so seeking advice. You mentioned that you had been able to improve your eyesight from -5 to -4 and even better. What is the situation now ? Can you please suggest what I could do to improve or at the very least reduce the progression of Myopia in my Son ?
Thank you for your help and suggestions
