Reading amperz64 sounds so much like me. 4 abdominal surgeries (oopherectomy, hysterectory, sigmoidectomy, and intestinal herniation surgery). If i stand too long or sit unsupported it feels like someone is pulling me apart inside and then makes the pain SO MUCH worse for weeks. At times there is pain on both sides, but for the past 6 months it's all left side and groin. I also have pain from gas in the same place. In my surgeries i was cut twice in the same place along the lower edge of my abdomen, then twice in the middle from the bottom up to my navel. Both scars are 'puckered' and stuck inward. I had a CT with contrast of my colon that didn't show any herniations or obstructions there. What do i do next to deal with the constant pain and the increasing inability to sit or stand very long?

I am looking for a cure or treatment for my mom. My mom has abdominal scar tissue. She has had a past cesarean and lived with a umbilical hernia (from the same pregnancy she had the cesarean from) for 24 years. She finally let her fear go and went for an operation on the umbilical hernia-because doctors kept telling her about risks of strangulation, especially now that she's in her early 60s.

All went well, but after that the doctors noticed that she had just got another hernia-soon after that operation. Doctors said it was small compared to her umbilical hernia, & therefore no need to operate-plus it would be contributing to extra scar tissue. So she followed their advice & didn't go.

Now because of the scar tissue issue, or so the doctors say what that is, she suffers & can't live her life without being in fear that at anytime-anyday-anywhere she will have to be rushed to the ER Room. She has already been rushed twice to ER in the middle of the night. It starts off with her having diarrhea, then nausea sets in. She will then throw-up a few times & then she will experience EXTREME pain (like very bad cramps) in her abdominal region. So, she knows the process quite well-although the 1st time it happened -she had no idea what was going on & was very scared. The ER will give her morpheine to subside the pain & keep her hospitalized for a few days.

They happen randomly & sporadically- she doesn't want to live her life like a ticking time bomb-not knowing what to do to resolve the situation & not knowing when the next time it will happen or where it will happen. The doctors told her 'they can't do anything to remove the scar tissue-because another operation will just leave new scar tissue'. And, 'that this is normal for people who have had previous abdominal operations, and as people age there's a higher chance for them to go through this'- is what the doctors say.

My mom is also a type 2 diabetic-takes meds for and takes cholesterol meds for high cholesterol. She manages her diabetes & cholesterol very well, eats healthy, doesn't smoke or drink (never did), sees her doctors as regularly as needed, and is healthy besides that. She did have cancer 2 or 3 years ago in her colon ( she had to get 1 of her colons removed, the 2nd colon was unaffected & fine), She's living just fine with just having 1 colon instead of 2. The cancer was stage 2-which was mild, compared to a stage-4--which is the highest in severity. She is well from cancer-went for chemo & did what she needed to do. So she is cancer free now, although she's only been 2 years cancer free-the medical community doesn't officially claim you cancer free-until it's been 5 years without cancer.

Please help-my mom has never tried any holistic/homeopathic remedies before, but I feel she's willing to try anything at this point. If anyone can suggest any supplements, ointments, massage techniques, foods...ANYTHING! THANKS.

Hi! I hope that I can offer some help for those struggling with abdominal pain from scarring. I did use the staphsygria that was recommedended from this site 12c 3x daily for 2 wks. That really helped to get things going.

I have finally found Chi Nei Tsang pronounced che na song. It is an ancient chinese abdominal massage. It has helped me with my abdominal scar tissue. I have learned how to use this technique on myself as well. I started seeing my practitioner once a week for about 8 wks. with noticable improvement. Then I reduced it to once every 2 wks.

I have had 6 abdominal surgeries. I found out about my adhesions from having a colonoscopy they could not complete due to an adhesion at my sigmoid colon. Then I suggested to my doctor that I have a virtual colonscopy they found many adhesions, loops and drooping. The virtual colonscopy is extremely easy to go through you are not sedated or anything it takes about 15 minutes and you get up and go home. After the test my doctor suggested that I never take extra fiber from supplements, which has helped. The only fiber I take is from foods only.

You may also want to consider rolfing. They work on breaking up the scar tissue anywhere in your body. I have heard that they are a little rough. I have not personally experienced that type of work.

Good luck-I know the pain that you endure from the adhesions. I have lived with it for the past 10 yrs. I have only known exactly what is going on with me for 2 yrs. Before that some of the doctors I had seen told me it was in my head. While I continued to be in agony. I also take extra magnesium to keep my bowels very loose. That has helped as well.

Berta, thank you for your suggestions. I want to look into the virtual colonoscopy (last regular colonoscopy i had said they couldn't go very far). I too take magnesium and it really helps with constipation from poor bowel motility from surgeries. Has anyone taken EUPHORBIUM - i was reading about it and it seems to especially fit the tearing, burning in the muscles in theabdomen. I also have the painful sphincter spasms it mentions. Wonder if this would be better for me than staphys.?

The staph was suggested from one of the homeopaths at this site. It worked very well for me. I also have been known to take colocynthis which is for abdominal pain.

Hi,
I am the proud mother of two beautiful boys and would like to eventually have another child. I've had one ovarian cyst removal surgery and two C-Sections. My doctor tells me that because of my scar tissue and internal adhesions he does not advise that I have anymore children. Is there anything out there to remedy my scar tissue/adhesions so that it will be possible for me to have more children?
Thank you in advance for your time.

Hello virginia

Please try calc. fluor 6x 3 pills thrice daily for some weeks. If it doesn't help revert back with more details about yourself, your ailments, your past medical history and give a lot of details to zero-in on a remedy.

I have had 12 abdominal surgeries since 1981, all due to cysts, tumors. One was for umbilical hernia which It damage part of the intestine.
They have done all scans and test at the emergency room which I have several visits within a month. I have Fibromyalgia an Jogrens and I suffer from constant pain everyday. I am soooo tired
I believe my scar tissue is severe, I get skin rashes all over with severe itching, the abdominal pain that I get 2 out of 7 days a week is so intense that is hard to breath. I can no longer even stand in the kitchen and cook a meal without having to get in the fetal position, no long shopping trips for this girl... that's for sure.
My standing time is about 15 minutes at that. The pain is in the upper left quadrant and the middle. I get distended to the point I look 7 months pregnant. I have severe Flatulence with or without food and violent vomiting, to the point that I have scared the doctors at the emergency room and have fractured a rib.
Why is it that after several Endoscopies, Colonoscopies, Scans etc... They tell me there's nothing there???
Can't continue to live this way I am to tired... You are my last hope. Please help anybody.

Hi,

I have just come out of surgery about 1 month ago for a stricture in my small intestine. This was caused by a mix of Crohn's disease and scar tissue. What can I take to avoid the scar tissue for long term use?

mehtadone last decade
Hi mehtadone

Initially for a couple of weeks you can take calendula 6x thrice daily.

Later you can take thiosinaminum 6x for internal scar tissue. It'll also prevent strictures.

maheeru last decade
Thanks for your reply. I currently have a stoma which is going to be reversed in 2 months. Would you reccomend calendula now and then again after the stoma reversal or just after the reversal?

Hi Hastymitzy

Please take staphysagria 6c thrice daily for 3 days and revert after a week.

Hi mehtadone

You can take calendula now and after stoma reversal next month. Calendula is an anti-infectant and also helps healing surgical sites.

maheeru last decade
Hello kimberley first you can take staphysagria 6c for the pain you're suffering from surgical procedures. Then we'll have to assess in detail what can be done for you holistically.

Hi Maheeru,

Thank you for your response, however my surgery was in 1993 a very long time ago, unsure staphysagria would be useful. the upper GI w/ small intestine biospy(negative) was last year (2007). The spasm/breathing every time I eat where I can feel it wrapping around vagus nerve from colon, thru stomach, up into esophagus, pulling on larnx/throat, hard to talk when food passing through areas, can't breathe, feel like circulation being cut off. Perhaps I should have a regular consult with you. Do you do that? I have an old friend homeopath in CA who has suggested LM 1 dose of plumbum, I started very small dose about a week ago.
Thanks again for your kindly response.
Blessings,
Kimberly

Hi Kimberley

I've seen that staphy. reducing ill-effects from surgery even after a decade or so. And its nice that your friend is helping you. Of course you can present your case on the forum. You can also contact me--my email id is in the profile. Well how has plumbum helped, till now?

maheeru last decade
Ok, I shall try staphy...Have not noticed any change with plumbum. I shall contact you via email.
thanks so much.

Hi Maheeru,

I've read through all the posts and am confused about what I should take for scar tissue in my breasts (from surgery). I got staphysagria 30c but don't know how I should dose it, i.e., how many pills, how many times a day, for what period of time? Can you help?

proforgnzr last decade
Hello proforgnzr

Can you give a descriptive account of your complaint?

Staphy was suggested to the person who's having post surgical pains. Have you got pains at the surgical stumps too? If yes you may use stapy. (since its 30c three doses[one dose will be 3 to 5 pills] for three days would be enough) or if your problem is scar tissue you may have to take another remedy.

Kimberly

Did you take staphy.? Are you continuing plumbum? What's the status now?

maheeru last decade
Hi Maheeeru,

Thank you for your reply. I have pain under the arms where the doctor cut into the muscle (at the edge of each cut under the breast). The problem I had was scar tissue only. I want to prevent that from happening again. I have been taking Staphy for four days now.

proforgnzr last decade
Hi proforgnzr

Ok has staphy. helped your pain under arms? If your pain's gone stop staphy. and even if you don't notice any improvement stop the remedy in 2 or 3 days.

For scar tissue you may be required to take Thiosinaminum 6x thrice daily for longer periods along with external application of the same on scar tissues. Report periodically so if itching/pain or some other symptoms show up with scar tissue there are other remedies like graph., fl.acid etc.

maheeru last decade
The pain under my arms has not gone away and I stopped the staphy yesterday. The scar tissue is internal which is why I had to go through the surgery again. It adhered to the implants. There is no itching but still pain where the muscle was cut inside.

proforgnzr last decade
Hi proforgnzr

Wasn't there any positive change after staphy.? If it hasn't helped you---you can try carbo veg 6c for some days for this pain. After this for scar tissue you can take Thiosinaminum 6x thrice daily for some weeks for internal scars. Then you can up the potency to 6c and 30c.

Hi,

I'm just joining this forum. I stumbled upon it when researching treatment possibilities for my grandmother. She is in her late 70's and has recently (about 2 years ago) had a colostomy - she now has a bag for life. Although it has been 2 years, she has just recently been experiencing severe pain in her abdomen. I've been reading up on adhesions and scar tissue forming. We finally took her to emerg when she explained the pain as similar to experiencing childbirth. The doctors said her intestines may have been blocked. She had an ultrasound and there was no clots. She experiences the pain frequently, sometimes not as bad, and the only relief seems to come after stool has passed through.

Is there anything that she can do or take to cope with the pain or to improve the adhesions that may have formed around her intestines due to the major abdominal surgery? She is on several medications already (for blood pressure, cholestorol, blood thinners, etc.). Any suggestions would be helpful. I have been reading some of the other posts and I will research some of the natural products suggested.

Thanks in advance.
