The ABC Homeopathy Forum
Your thoughts please
Please forgive the length of this question.I saw a well respected homeopath for extreme anxiety, abdominal pain and fibromyalgia symptoms. He prescribed kali arsenicum pills, which then took him 15 minutes to convince me I wasn't going to die of arsenic poisoning. I finally took them and within an hour felt 100% better than I had in months. Psychosomatic or not? Anyway, my follow up consisted of taking nightly drops of the same substance but now in liquid form, which took me a week to accomplish (medication phobia). The next morning, I felt horrible with weakness, nausea and vomiting. I called his office for three days and got no response at which point I gave up and never took it again. My question is, would this have been a common response? Should I have continued the treatment? Is it safe to start again? Homeopaths are rare in my city so finding another is not an easy task. I would appreciate your comments. Thank you.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Once there is a responce for the better after taking a remedy there is NO NEED to take it again. At least untill the responce has dwindled away, which can take months. Taking it again so soon develops into a prooving, which means you are doing no good and are getting the worst of the effects. Leave well enough alone for some months yet.

yes it is overdosing
once the improvement is under process, then you dont hav need to repeat it
but if u repeated, dont worry these symptoms will go soon with time
but dont use any medicine

Thank you both for your response but this leads me into other questions. Such as why would he give me continued dosing after the initial dose? And since the first dose worked so well, when my symptoms reappear would it be wise to just buy my own kali arsenicum and take it myself? Again, thank you for your time..

Your symps may not appear as they once were, somewhat modified I'd say. Taking remedies can have the effect of imprinting itself on the person, it is not wise to treat yourself with Hpathy. As to why he gave more, this is an ongoing question, one method I won't use for obvious reasons. regards

I appreciate the advice and will not take anymore of the remedy. I must admit the panic attacks are much improved but the FM and stomach pain are still a problem. As for the potency of the one-time dose, I have no clue. On the liquid, he only wrote [my name]'s remedy. It took me a week to find out what it was. Very disconcerting to a mediphobe.
Once again, I appreciate your thoughts. Thank you.

Generally the way many remedies work is the mental/emotional attitude gets changed for the better first. Secondly, the physical position becomes changed, within time, how long this can be is anyones guess. So the physical problem you have may also get worse in the short term BUT, it will subside, then it is time to take another dose. Symptoms then either disapeare altogether or subside to a managable level. I hope this helps
