Infant Reflux - Please Help
Hi! I have a baby who just turned 4 months old yesterday. Since about 12 hrs old he has had projectile spitting with choking. He arches his back & screams after spitting up, burping or having hiccups. Sometimes he just starts screaming from lying down or even being in his bouncy & he will arch, twist & turn as if trying to get away from the burning. He was born at 37 weeks, no drugs for labor/delivery, he did have slight meconium in his water. He was 8 lbs, 10 oz at birth & as of yesterday weighs 15 lbs, 8 oz. He tries to be happy but he is just not a happy baby. Some days are better than others. He is exclusively breast fed & I've done elimination diets with no improvement. We did battle 'overactive letdown' & 'foremilk/hindmilk imbalance' but those seem to be under control now. During that time he would have frequent explosive poops that were slimy, mucousy, & green. His poops have now gone back to the typical yellow color of a bf baby but they are still mucousy, stringy. His ped wants him on Axid. I've read Chamomilla can help reflux. I have some here - 1 is 30x & 1 is 200c. Which should I give him & how often? Is the 200c for a once only dose? Or is there another remedy that would work better? I appreciate any input & will be glad to answer more questions on his history. Thanks in advance,
Paula
