Ear Pain

I am a 47 year old woman with ear pain. The pain started about 3 weeks ago; went to dr. said I had medina otitus - gave me Biaxin (antibiotics) for infectio and Motrin 800 for pain. Took all medication (last pill on 7/29). Since then the ear pain has increased. It feels like pressure and dull pain. I also feel pain in my left jaw (went to dentist in January) because of a lost crown. He didn't see any problems, but took xray. Other symptoms include my jaw locks sometimes, tooth pain, and ear ringing. I went again last night to dr who said my ear infection had cleared up - no sign of it - but pain persists. Took 2 Motrin last night and it was still hurting. Need some kind of relief. Other medications I'm taking is for high blood presssure and depression (cymbalta & buproprion); also take ambien when needed. Can anyone shed some light

Can you tell us what makes the ear pain, and jaw pain less? What makes it worse?

At what time do you suffer most?

'jaw locks sometimes, tooth pain, and ear ringing'

Whether the lips are drawn back when there is lock jaw?

Is it the cold or hot that eggravate the toothache or oherwise?

nothing makes it hurt more or even less. It hurts all times of the day; I suppose I notice it more in the evening, because I'm less busy. I think the lock jaw thing may be a fleeting symptom; meaning - it last happenend about 4 or 5 months ago; maybe not in relation to ear pain. Recently have been swimming, but so was hubby who doesn't have any problems. I have a root canal (8 years now) w/lost crown that may be adding to jaw pain. Now it appears the Drs. think I may have 'swimmers ear' and 'tooth infection' separately coincidentally at the same time - sheesh!

Similar case here.

Problem arising out of Root canal.

I gave her Arnica and Belladona (both in 30 potency - three times a day) together with 10 minutes interval. Patrient responded within 3 days.

Dr. Moorthy may also have some opinon on it.

In the absence of reliable modalities, I can't prescribe.
