Hello,

I have had Trigeminal Neuralgia for 1 1/2 years... I have tried acupuncture with limited success. I haven't seen my usual Homeopath because she uses multiple remedies which I understand is not so good.
The TN is right sided and seems to be better for cold; the pain in my right cheek is sharp and stabbing and is much worse when eating or shaving; my mind is a little depressed and I am quite irritable; I also have a feeling of recklessness.

the TN has slowly been getting worse for the 1 1/2 years until a month ago when it became so painful that it totally incapacitated me; at that time I was orally using cayene to try and block the pain; acupuncture helped a great deal but it's getting worse again. Now it occurs not only when eating and shaving but little twitches of stabbing pain occur every minute or so..

Can anyone suggest anything... using the ABC software Belladonna was most strongly indicated.

as I am much more exact with the modalities of the case I realize cold is an aggravator and warmth alleviates... so I have begun to take a course of Magnesium Phosphorica and after a day notice an improvement... last night i felt much better, but this morning had the worst attack ever... however I presently feel a little flue like... is it possible that I'm have an aggravation... my dosage is 30C three times a day? any suggestions?

I had severe trigeminal neuralgia for 11 years. I went to several Neuroligists (including Mayo Clinic) and took every med. known, and every treatment (including accupuncture & homeopathy). Nothing helped. Last Apr. I went to Dr. Sanan at the University in Tuscon,AZ. and had microscopic decompression surgery. (a dime size hole behind my ear). He removed a blood vessel that was intwined in the trigeminal nerve (this is what causes TN. He placed pads between the nerve & the vessel. He said mine was the worse case he had ever seen. I am pain & med. free sence Apr. He said it won't return.

The TN responded beautifully to the Mag Phos thanks... after a couple of weeks I reduced to once a day wet dose... now I'm off all remedies except a homeopathic cream (called Traumeel - twice a day to my cheek - I only have occasional twinges whan I eat or touch the cheek

hello all...

the TN continues.. it is worse in the morning, and also when I eat... the weather is very cold here in Canada and seems to keep the TN from getting better... I am about to change my dose to Mag Phos 200 once every five days and continue the Mag Phos 30 every day I'm not taking the 200...

any recommendations?

Homeopathic meds may be effective as temporiary relief. I took about 20 diffrent meds. during my 11 years of pain. Some helped a little, even several months of complete relief at times, but until the trigeminal nerve is seperated with pads from the blood vessel that is touching it, trigeminal neuralgia will always return. A dime size hole behind my ear, a simple microscopic surgery called Microvascular decompression cured me completely. Why suffer through pain with remidies.

My suggestion:

Start taking:

Mag Phos 6X
and
Natrum Sulph 6X

4 tabs of each, four times a day.
Can take both meds together.

Take it for 3 weeks.

According to several other Homeopaths for right sided Trigeminal Neuralgia which is worse for cold/better for heat
Magnesium Phosphorica is the best remedy... It has worked for me...
I took a 30X dose every day...
If this doesn't do the trick then you could try a 200X...

I recommend though that you see a live Homeopath who will ba able to take your entire case and make recommendation

You can try giving Mag. phos 30 in wet dose thrice daily for a week.(Dissolve 3 pills or drops of the medicine in a 500 ml mineral water bottle and 5 drops from this solution will be the dose. Just before every subsequent dose you need to shake the water bottle vigorously for 7 times.)

Since when you're getting this pain. Can you think about something going on when this came on?

Have you checked with hot or cold application when its paining? What makes that worse and what makes that better?

Can you also tell how touch, rest, exercise, movement, climate, time of the day, diet affect this pain or affect you in general?

No improvement with cold,heat.Movements increase it.Nothing with touch.It start itself most of the time in night and morning.Not using any caffein.have pain over one year.syarted after toothe cleaning.
