acute prescribing

hi. i have a question regarding acute prescribing. according to what i have read and learned, a remedy can be repeated when there is a return of the illness or when the remedy is no longer moving the case forward. can someone with experience verify this for me? thanks!

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Some repeat, sometimes it is time for another remedy to follow.

Each time an infection returns one must re-evaluate what the actual needs are...a repeat or new choice.

If illness repeats too closely, like not a useful response, change remedies. Sabra

thank you sabra for replying.

the question i asked pertained to repeating a remedy that had worked extremely well (bell.)on all symptoms.

the next night, a symptom returned in a lesser degree, this is when i posted the question.

i ended up repeating it and it worked beautifully!

had any new symptoms appeared or if anything else changed, i would have had to re evaluate to see if a new remedy was indicated- is this correct then?

i gave bell. 30c for a very high fever (almost 104!) headache and a canker sore in my daughter.

i'm wondering if i will need another remedy to finish this off. the canker sore is sloooowly going away.

thank you again for replying

Nothing like going around the barn to get an answer...Ha Ha.

How old is daughter??? you forgot that. Who has herpes that has been kissing her???

You obviously chose well for the fever. A fever indicates infection, so that throat or ears etc. was being healed also. A few doses, little as possible and stop when better.

You can follow with NATRUM MUR. as this is good for a lower split lip and canker sores. One or two doses 24 hours apart probably enough. If it doesn't work, probably will have to do a larger work up. Blessings, Sabra

hahah. well. i'm happy to say it worked out well.

my daughter is 11 and i hope no one is kissing her yet! she has a canker sore along the gum line of the lower right side. she had braces put on recently and her poor mouth hurts for various reasons now!

i had tried nat. mur early on for the canker sore, back when it first erupted. do you think that it will work now?

herpes, does this cause canker sores?

thanks for the info. on nat mur. should i wait a bit to see if the bell. will take care of the sore?
thanks again,

Gads, Again! When someone says canker sore, we assume it is on the lip. You know that word, assume, really messes up a bunch.

No Nat Mur for this, this time. Yes, canker sores or cold sores are herpes. Not written in stone, so depends how often they get it.

Now it is on the GUM. It is not necessarily a canker, maybe a mouth ulcer from the braces?????

Staphysagria is very good for gums and teeth. A very sensitive person. Gum disease.

Maybe she needs Merc Corr. Red inflamed gums. This is for break outs like ulcers in the mouth, anywhere. (inside the mouth) Look it up, see what you think. Usually from infection in throat or elsewhere.

NITRIC ACID really sounds good when I looked at it. A really good kid's remedy.

Hypericum is for nerve endings which includes the gums and teeth. Also for tetanus.

It really seems that she needs the wires ajusted.

Have her gargle with salt water. Add a bit of arm and hammer soda to change the ph in the mouth.

DO NOT allow sodas of any kind at this time. Wait on acid fruits. Apples are good. If she likes yogurt this is soothing. A good brand, plain with honey. Encourage a lot of water intake. No bananas.

Blessings, Sabra

thank you again sabra!

i'll read up on the remedies you suggested and try the baking soda/salt water combo. i had her rinse with calendula tinture and water- she hated this!

we tried merc.v earlier as well with no success.

yes, i'm going to phone the orthodontist tho we just had the wires changed one week ago. hmmm? i have scripts for antibiotic junk he gave us when the braces first went on and i'm sure he'll suggest using them.

why no bananas? potassium is acidic?

i'm off to read. i appreciate the help.

Lie to the doctor that you do everything he suggests or He may refuse to cooperate with you. Your child is more important than any moral consideration.

Nitric Acid still seems best
to me.

Merc V. is more for general sore throat with loss of voice as a deciding factor.

We have to satisfy the doctors until we have our own understanding. Then one can discribe the problems in order and homeopathy takes care of it.

People that use homeopathy exclusivly seldom use antibiotics. SO, IF one is actually needed, the body has not already built up ristance to them.

There are children and adults that have had infection for years and have practically become home bound for fear of catching something as NO antibiotics work for them, now, after a life time of using them. Blessings, Sabra

Bananas are pure carbohydrate. This is too much sugar to be eating. Some people go right to sleep after eating one. S.

If canker sore is going away, and no new ones are developing, don't give any new medicine.

Nitric acid,as suggested by Sabra is a very good choice for canker sores to start with. But,I suggest to give it only, when the new ones start coming up.

Just one dose of 30 or 200 potency, and wait patiently.

No odors around her,on her(perfumes etc),and in her mouth, while taking the medicine.

Canker sores, tend to repeat, and,if nitric acid is not helping, come bach here.

hi sabra,

i have no problem working around the doctor, been doing this for a little while anyway!

she's not had many antibiotics in her life. she's had several semi serious illnesses.

cellulitis after chicken pox, strep throat and pnemonia.

i'll keep an eye on the canker which seems okay this morning.
thanks!

murthy, yes i am waiting at this point. thank you.

Do not let anyone get Chicken Pox shots.

Chicken Pox Vacc. was tested in a third world, poor, country. Our government promised health benefits. This "testing" killed many children while they ajusted the formula.

Now, they are giving it to our children. Mothers of these children are developing SHINGLES from their child's shot.

Shingles is a mature age outbreak from having had chicken pox as a child. No, it doesn't ALWAYS happen. The CP virus stays in the spinal cord and may pop out unexpectedly.

Shingles is a nerve endings outbreak that is extremely painfull, itching, bumps, rash, and raw sores. I had it, couldn't believe the pain. Takes weeks to heal, leaves small scars.

Tell others. PS...Also the bananas are difficult to get out of braces. Blessings, Sabra

thank you sabra. if i knew then what i know now...

my daughter had the chicken pox when she was 7 but my boys were both vaccinated for it. i remember being concerned about them getting the shot tho. mother's instinct i guess.

i see what you mean about the bananas!

i remembered something this morning about the canker. before it came on, she had woken up and said her throat felt "swollen" and started coughing and panicked a bit.

i gave her apis without even reading thru my books! she felt better almost immediately and seemed fine for the most of the day. the coughing gradually resumed and then the canker appeared. this is when i tried the nat. mur. and then merc. v.

late that night, came the sudden high fever and headache. fever went really high the next day and i started the bell., which took care of things.

she rinsed with the baking soda/salt today. the canker is red and still there. i have not repeated the bell. since the night of my first post. i'm still waiting to see if it will improve. it's not painful, which is good.

i don't have nit. ac. i might be able to get it tomorrow tho.

thanks for the info. yes, i tell everyone about the vaccination dangers!

My, you did go around the barn. Now I think you are seeing the way to report symptoms. Your 3rd list of symptoms should have been first. In spite of all, it is fine.

According to what you wrote, I answered because of your heading of "acute prescribing" out of curosity.

It might have been "braces and canker sores" and you would have gotton more replies.

Hope all continues to be well for her.

You sound like a pretty good chooser of remedies. Very good. Even the Apis, if nothing else, to comfort and ease her fears.

Proud to know you. Blessings, Sabra

yeah well "around the barn" is about all i'm qualified to do! ha ha.

i should have had 'braces" in the heading, tho, at the time it was still more about when to re-dose.

thank you for your help and compliment. i have had a good teacher.

very nice to have recieved your help! i read here alot and always like what you have to say. the voice of reason

hi sabra,

i wanted to let you know that my daughter's canker sore is gone! the site is still a little deeper red than the area around it but i'm guessing that it will fade soon.

she still has a bit of a cough. this was the first symptom and i expect it to follow the law of cure as it has so far.

so the bell. took care of all. thought i'd let you know!

thanks again for the help.

hi, back again with a continuation of illness.

the cough worsened and became productive and deep. the bell no longer worked.

she developed abdominal pain, now severe and a low fever (99 - 101). the pain is so great, she will not allow me to press there. it's on the lower, right side, above hip and radiates to the navel.

i have tried phos. (cough) lyc. and bry. it could potentially be the appendix and if i cannot get this under control, we'll have to go to the doctor's and have some tests done.

any ideas ?
thanks,
kppy

Directly to doctor. Must find out. Cough is the least of problem. DO NOT give a laxitive.

If the cough is deep and barking type, get some Spongia.

Anxious to hear results.

hi sabra,
she's currently at the hospital. the doctor sent us there with the suspician of appendicitis.

we are waiting for that result but we now know that she has pneumonia for sure. doctor says it's unlikely that she has both append. and pneu. at same time. i'm waiting to hear the outcome of the x-rays. likely that the ciughing caused the abdominal pain- what i had suspected.

my husband is at the hospital with her and i know will allow them to give her antibiotics, steroids or whatever they recommend! he's angry becquse i waited and tried to treat it myself....

well, i'll post later with full results. thank you for your concern.

Do not be angry with yourself, and your husband does not have this right either. You did what you do best, watch and care for your child.

Mothers are not doctors, but watchers. Just agree with him and let him win this one. Your day will come.

Pneumonia is very sneaky.

He is just upset by everything and has to blame someone. Tell him to straighten up and grow up.

Pneumonia is very sneaky.

If men raised children they would just hand them over to the doctor and agree to the treatment.

Get familiar with the other things besides vit C you can give in winter and watch and consider the symptoms so you can avoid another pneu. repeat in your daughter.

OK, OK, "MOST" men. I can hear you guys!!

Once when my boys were quite small I just knew two of them were very sick. The doctor gave them a once over and said they had colds. I took them home---took them back to the same office the next day demanding the other doctor see them. They both had pneumonia. (you couldn't do this today) Took 5 weeks for them to heal. The church did my laundry and my husband cooked. Thank goodness the well one was my little asthmatic.

There are times when we must turn to antibiotics, but not often, thank goodness!

Blessings, Sabra

As you see I cut and pasted a bit......

My little asthmatic is now 43 and has no asthma. Big gentle man.

hi sabra,

unfortunately, her appendix ruptured. she also has pneumonia.

the doctors are saying she'll be in the hospital 1-3 weeks while they treat with antibiotics and will remove the appendix in a couple months. the high fever she had was most likely the beginning of the rupture as they said she has had it for a week or more!

i'm stunned and exhausted-at the hospital all night.

thanks for the concern,
kppy

kppy3 last decade
Seems that the appendix was really sneaky this time too.

Oh, couldn't have both at same time.....

Here is a combo to mix in a drinking water bottle for her while she is in the hospital.

Arnica
Carbo veg
Echinacea
Hypericum

Shake up well and let her sip as if taking a drink. Let it lay on the bed with her. When the bottle runs low, bring another and fill first bottle, shake up. NO NEED for more remedy. Hospital will never know, or husband.

Never mind 3 weeks, try to get her out within a week. Hospitals are so full of harmful germs.

Ask for a FULL explanation why they are not going to remove appendix asap. You need all the facts.

There was no possible way you could have known this course of events, not even the doctor.

Today is today, go from here!

Keep us posted.

Blessings, Sabra
