allergic to cold weather - may be allergic rhinitis
Hi i am from india.I am allergic to cold weather. My symptoms are as follows
whenever it gets cold ie temperatres fall below than 22 degrees celsius it starts discharging from the back of nose.this results in post nasal drip. The discharge will be continuous day and night.
Also i will hav blocking of nose at nights when i sleep. blocking will be alternating based on which side i sleep and the time period each nose is blocked.
then amount of discharge inversely proportional to the temperature.
in winter nights when the temperatures are below 18 i will not be able to sleep due to over thin, some what sticky, transparent discharge. due to this i have to spend most of the night coughing up the discharge from my mouth. even if i sleep my sleep will get interrupted due to sounds from my throat(its not snoring)
Even if the temperature is high there will be some discharge from the back of my nose
in winters i am addicted to use nasal drops to breath easy at nights
nasal irrigation in summers(> 25 degrees celsius) will keep me away from nasal drops, but it is of little use in winters.
sudden exposure to the different temperatures like comming out of house in rainy season mornings also result in sudden excessive discharge.
Below are some other details of my previous history with sinusitis
i used to have common cold most of the time from childhood(age 11).i have low resistance against common cold.i realised now that common cold is due to the water in my town. even now when ever i get in contact with a person with cold i will get it.A course of amoxyllin for 4 days will do away with that cold.If i dont use antibiotics, but just use hot steam breathing cold will carry on for more than 2 weeks
discharge from the nose will be high when i get tension or exposed to dust.
antihistamine tablets will stop excess nasal discharge but will not stop it completely.
i am a software programmer and spend most of the day in ac..during which my nose will water some times.
my hands will become cold
some times without any reason.
when i get excited or even when i am arguing or lecturing other people i sweat(from the head, brow, back) at the starting.
i speak only upto the point and am less friendly with unknowns.
of all the tastes i like sweet..but i eat food in limited quantities. my digestive system is not that great although i can say its not bad.
my eyes water when they face wind, and recently i am getting dry eyes.also eyes water when i yawn.
i am on homeopathic medication for abt 5 years for sinusitis(not the recent 5 years) but i dont know what medicines i am on.The treatment at that time is only for common cold and sore throat cause,as temperatures in my home town never went below 18.
i will be moving to london.please suggest some cure for the discharge, sleepless nights problem as the temperatures in london will always be less than 20 degrees c.
during last 4 years at bangalore i havent used any homeopathy.
i know cetrizine combined with nasal drops will result in lowering of the sevierity but i hope homeopathy can be better. Also no need to mention the effects of prolonged use of nasal drops which i think i have done for most of the time when i was at my home town.
