Dr Sameer, Please advise!
Dear Dr Sameer,I have been lucky enough for almost the whole past year to take advantage of your professional knowledge and your courtesy.
Here I am again with a few concerns regarding my son who is 20 months old now. As a reminder his constitutional is Phos, and you confirmed it before.
Recently he jerks and starts during his sleep. Mostly at the beginning of his sleep. He has been through a lot of adjustments because we move from west coast to east coast. After move, he wouldnt sleep through night and he would wake up every 1-2 hours, even though he sleeps in our room. So we decided to bring him in our bed. Now he is much better. He sleeps at 9:30, the he wakes up at 12 for his milk. Then he goes back to sleep and then usually it is after 3 or 4 am that he wakes up and it takes 30 minutes or so to go back to sleep again. Sometimes he breathes rapidly and then wakes up in crying, I guess having some bad dreams but dont know what. Sometimes he wakes up requests his pacifier and then he would toss and turn a lot until he goes back to sleep. When he wants to go to sleep he has to rub his hand against my or my husbands hand. In general he fights with sleeping. The jerking and starting happens specially when he sleeps on his back. If he sleeps on his tummy it happens a lot less. Please note that there will be another adjustment for him and that would be moving to a new house. We are planning to put him in his bed in his room in the new house. This is goning to be sometimes next week.
So sleeping problem is my main concern but there are a few other things a I would like to mention:
Since we moved to east coast his right eye duct is closed. But it is only when he is exposed to cold weather. And sometimes it happens in room temperature as well but I couldnt find out what triggers it.
Recently he doesnt burp easily. I mean he kind of swallows his burps, as soon as it is coming out. So he hiccups, and sometimes he brings up a little bit of food and the he swallows it back again.
FYI, I gave him a dose of phos 30c on march 02 before we moved.
Please kindly advise me what to do.
As always I appreciate your time and your attention.
Sincere regards,
beth

Hi Dr Sameer,
Thank you for your quick reply.
I totally understand if you won't be able to respond quickly. I know you are extremly busy plus some of your paitients have higher priority than others due to medical conditions.
one quick question: he had calc carb 30 c before like about 6-7 months ago. do you still want me to use 6c or maybe 30c?
many thanks,
beth

Hi Dear Sameer,
It has been 7 days(6 mights) since I gave my son the remedy. here is the report:
first night he slept horrible. I mean nothing like that before. he would woke up every hour, lots of tosses and turns and it looked like he was not comfortable in any sleeping position. even the pacifier didn't work that specific night. the night after we moved to the new house. he slept in our bed and he slept very good. surprisingly the night after he asked for sleeping in his bed!!!!! so I put him in his bed and since then he is sleeping very calm and relax in his bed. so no more jerking, or starting. no more crying in the middle of night except for feeding. although he fights sleeping same as before. it takes about one hour to get him to sleep everynight. I am really happy about his calm sleep. thank you so much for your professional hepls, your time, your generosity and your care.
regarding his right eye duct it looks like it is still blocked. or let me put it this way. no tears (due to blockage for the past 6 days) until yesterday when he was playing with sands. after that the eye started again. could it be tiny particles of sands?
he hasn't had any hiccup since I gave him the remedy. that is very good. but still has some problems with his eating.
one more thing: he used to wake up without crying but now everytime he wakes up he cries (has nothing to do with the remedy, he has been like this for the past month). and recently he gets angry whenever he can not do something. I am trying to explain to him and always help him out.
so do you recommend any more remedy?
thank you again

Dear Beth,
Let us wait for 1 more week, and not repeat any more doses. Update me at that time.
Keep Calcarea Carb 12c or 15c at hand.

Dear Sameer,
I have couple of questions which I would like to know your personal and professional thoughts regarding those. I really appreciate to take a look at them whenever you have some spare time:
1. Do you recommend Alfa Alfa 30c or maybe lower dosage for my son? I am asking this in general not just for the present time.
2. As I mentioned before he still wakes up for night time feeding. I am planning to stop this when he is 2 years old meaning in 4 months. Can you please tell me what do you think? Is it the right thing to do? Or should I continue feeding him at night?
3. This question may sounds very stupid but I am going to ask anyway: my son has very very beautiful eyes and eyelashes. His eyes were very happy but now I cant see the joy in them that he had before. His temperament has changed also. I know that it could be related to his age but I am worried that his constitutional is changing. Do you think that it is the case?
Thanks,
beth

1. Do you recommend Alfa Alfa 30c or maybe lower dosage for my son? I am asking this in general not just for the present time.
[SV]: I would not recommend this as any substance taken in potency always tends to produce symptoms. If at all, you decide to give this, 6x is highest potency I would think of.
2. As I mentioned before he still wakes up for night time feeding. I am planning to stop this when he is 2 years old meaning in 4 months. Can you please tell me what do you think? Is it the right thing to do? Or should I continue feeding him at night?
[SV]: Well , I am probably not the right person to answer this. Your physician should be able to tell you this.

[SV]: Constitutional remedy does not change, but what might be happening is, he is developing his sense of personal boundaries and hence the change in behavior. There is no reason to worry here.

Dear Sameer,
Tonight is the 7th night I gave my son 1 dose of calc-c 15 as you instructed. His sleep hasnt improved that much. In fact just a few minutes ago he woke up with a loud cream and crying hard. His cold is better in the sense that he doesnt sneeze anymore but he still has runny nose and since yesterday a little bump on his upper lip. Like a very tiny acne.
He wakes up once or twice at night again. He wakes up 6 in the morning no matter what time he goes to sleep. One time when he woke up he wanted me to hug him (and I did until he went back to sleep). He never asked to come to our bed though. I am not sure if these info are really useful for you so please let me know if you need more description.
Could you please kindly advise me what to do?
Thank you very much,
Beeta

Hi Sameer,
I just want to mention that his cold is completely gone so no more cold symptoms. His sleep is a little bit better although he still wakes up once or twice during the night.
Should I proceed with Silicea?
Thank you

Please wait as we never like to intervene during improvements.
Just watch for a few days and report back.

Hi Sameer,
Whenever you have some extra time could you please take a look at the followings and let me know if they are indicators of lycopodium for my son.
Recently my son stares often with an expression that makes me wonder what it is that he is worried about. He is also showing fear of being alone. He would follow me every room within the house, wants to stay in the same room with me. Even in the playground if he doesnt see me he would shout mommy. He doesnt play by himself anymore. Last night he woke up and he didnt want to go back to his bed and wanted to sleep in our bed which we ended up doing that. And this was totally new for the past 23 days (meaning since we moved to this new house). He apparently had a problem with his lips because after he woke up, he was rubbing his lips over my arm and then he would rub them with his arm and again my arm. He did that for about 2 minutes. I couldnt realize the problem though.
He doesnt walk down stairs anymore, instead he would ask me or whoever to lift him and take him downstairs. This is while he was a master in walking down stairs.
He craves sweet a lot (new for him). To the point that he would ask for honey after his meals. When he falls sleep for the very first minutes his eyes are half open. After a few minutes they are completely closed. Bowel movement happens every 2-3 days which is very odd for him. It used to be everyday. He wakes up un-refreshed when he gets up in the morning and first thing he asks is the breakfast. He eats quickly and usually hiccoughs once or twice per day. His stool is very hard at first and then soft.
Thank you very much.

Hi Beth,
Yes it seems that these are strong Lycopodium like indications (it was coming second in my analysis after Silica before this post of yours).
Please give him 3 doses of Lycopodium 6c in the exact same manner, and report back in 5 days.

Hi Sameer,
It has been 5 days. To my surprise my little phosphorus was back to his original attitude for second and third day. I am surprised because I thought Lyc is a very slow acting remedy. anyway, but now he is a little bit out of his normal again. for those 2 days his digestive system was totally fine. I mean not even trapped burp or hiccoughs. He was very fresh when he woke up. happy and very exciting and expressive as before. but I can see that he is staring again and since yesterday he has trapped burp again.
Can I give him 12/15 or maybe 30 dry dose?
Please let me know.
Thanks a lot,
