Blocked Nose
My both nose are blocked have done all efforts to get it opened, finally ENT Dr. advised for DNS surgery which I know is successful for few month only. Due to blocked nose has to breath all the time from mouth which make my mouth very dry, sometimes have sneezing and runny nose which stops after few minutes but nose never opened. Because of less oxygen going in the lungs due to blocked nose most of the times I feel uncomfortable and feeling tired and lazy. I am working in a clean envirnoment. Please advise me some reamady and a safe nasal sprayminhaj on 2009-08-07

please qualify your DNS, like to which side and is there any turbinates or polyps in the nose, what is the nature of the dischrage form the nose, is it watery or coloured and whcih part of the day is it more, is it associated with cold or weather changes etc.
remember DNS cannot be reverted, but the symptoms caused because of it like noseblock sneezing etc can be treated.

Dear Dr. Bagyavasa.K, thank you for giving time to me. My both nose have polyps and turbinate/DNS in left side, nature of discharge from both nose is watery and it comes during day time with sneezing and without feeling cold and with change of weather. Do you think that I should go for DNS surgery. Thanks & Regards

No don go for DNS surgery, no point, just take these medicines and let me know after a weeks time, sangunaria 30C (liquid 4-6 drops) in the morning and night. for one week. and you will see the difference.

As per your advise I have used Sangunaria 30 for a week, in the begning this medicine works very good but after few days no change. Presently I have sence of blockage of left nose and air passage, head pain, chest tightness, pain in eyes, very dry mouth, very dry nose and dryness in the air passage. Sudden pulse rate goes high, can not breath from nose, some times feeling like asthema symptoms and breathing difficulty.
Please advise me. Very many thanks and best regards

I think i had asked you to inform me after a weeks time. because these medicines are to be monitored regularly, anyways now can you explain more about your problems like the asthmatic attacks and the breathing difficulty, like when is it more and how is it relieved.

Thank you for the reply, actually I started Sangunaria 30 very late that is why I had not reported to you. Breathing difficulty means when I go on stairs in a building for two or three floors I feel difficult breathing, and asthmatic conditions means chest tightness and some allergy symptoms but without running nose and clear throat,and I get relieved by taking paracetamol tablet. A fear in mind that may be I will have asthma attack this is disturbing me. Kindly advise. Best Regards

it seems that your condition is improving and your running nose etc have stopped and you have not mentioned about your nose block you had before. anyways seeing the tight chest and difficult breathing the best medicine to take along with sangunaria is bryonia 30 4 drops in the morning and 4 at night.

You are absolutely right sir that my symptoms are improving, my runny nose is almost stopped and most of the time I can breath from nose (means partially both nose are open) but left nose has still problem and it blocks many times during day, have pain in forehead. Please advise me that when should I report back to you. Best Regards

Hey chest tightness is taken into consideration, you will have to take kali mur 30 4 drops in the morning and night before food.

yes stop the other two remedies and take kali mur, it is not 30X but 30C.

hey don worry about the change, it is good, so wait with kali mur 30 it is mainly for discomfort in the chest so hold on to that, we will see how it is after another week alright.

I cannot go out of my room in sunny weather and in the night after sunset, a serious pain starts in my chest (like needles pin type of pain). Kindly advise please. Best Regards

Used Bryonia 30 for almost three weeks the chest tightness has improved but blocked nose and dryness in nose and mouth has never gone. Due to blocked nose the nasal secretion is not draining through the external nasal opening but it is draining inside the throat. You are requested to kindly advise pl. Regards

You will have to stop bryonia and please if you can ask someone to examine your nose and let me know, all you have to do is take a light source and lift the tip of your nose and show the light source directly into your nostrils and see what is there, if you can ask someone in your family to do it, then it will be easy, once you have the detials let me know.

I consulted one of the best ENT Specialist he diagnosed: DNS (Deviated Nasal Syndrome) and nasal allergy. He advised me for surgery 'Septoplasty'. He gave me allergy medicine which I used six month back, that works for one to two days but he has not given any medicine for DNS as said that it will go only with surgery (I discussed his patients who has gone through surgery, they said DNS surgery is not successful and they get relief for three to four months only). Pl advise. Best regards

good DNS surgeries are not advisable, so don worry about it, and DNS cannot be corrected with medicines also, we can reduce the problem but not change the dns, ok now i should ask you to explain the nature of the discharge you are getting and timing of the block and what about the sneezing?

Nature of discharge is white, some thick but not watery, and it is not always. Blockage of nose most of the time in morning and evening with NO sneezing at all but left side is always blocked. Pl advise. Best Regards
