Aurum Question

I was wondering if Aurum is only prescribed to individuals that are actively displaying marked psychopathological symptoms. I read conflicting material on this topic, where some experts only recommend this remedy to highly disturbed individuals and others prescribe to people who appear to be functioning quite normally.

I would deeply appreciate any input on this. Thanks in advance!

Hi Paula,

It can be prescribed without serious mental pathology, however the person needing Aurum will most probably show at-least a certain degree of depressive tendency.

Thank you so much Sameer! I really appreciate your help.

When you have another minute, please let me know if I have this right: Aurum is mainly for depression and anxiety. Aurum Muriaticum Natronatum covers all of the elements of Aurum, but is specifically used for disappointment in regards to love relationships (exhibited through fear of marriage, etc.). Is this correct? There is not a lot of info on the web about Aurum for some reason.

many of the cases of depression may not call for aurum..

aurum is not as common as natrum and unless typical symptoms like deep depression, loathing of life and suicidal tendencies are present, aurum wont be of much use.

totality of the person would guide us to the remedy.

Thanks for replying Rishimba! You bring up another interesting point that has been confusing me for awhile. From what I read, Aurum is a 'step up' from Nat Mur. In other words, Aurum is a more aggravated state of Nat Mur. What makes Aurum more aggravated? Is it the suicidal state? Because it seems that Nat. Mur. can also have a loathing of life element. I also find it interesting that Aurum is not found in health food stores and is not prescribed often.

you are right paula, aurum is the extreme state of natrum..its typically associated with extreme loathing of life and suicidal tendencies in the chronic stages..

there are far more number of natrums in this world than aurums..
