Dr. Joe & Arnica

Hi there Joe De Livera,

I have been reading out of pure curiousity and to learn of course, yours as well as others recommended remedies.
You recommend Arnica as part or the whole of tx. to, it looks like, many patients and they have improved.
I am wondering if this is perhaps based on the belief that most illness is caused or triggered by some (sub)acute or(sub)chronic inflammation and/or a physical or emotional injury?
I have wanted to ask you this for awhile.
:)
Thank you.

I appreciate the link. :) ..and I will certainly be reading more up on it in the following days. It is hard to believe that it solves so many issues! The inflammatory diseases makes perfect sense to me like colitis, IBS, arthritis, some forms if diabetes etc.
Alcoholism? So, do you start with something else in this case and finish with Arnica? Wouldn't a liver remedy serve well here?
I, personally, have had little exposure to Arnica. I've used it topically many times, as many active people do and I have taken the pellets after minor day surgery.

You may like to know that although I have been treating patients for the last 25 years which I do free of charge on a purely altruistic basis, I am not a qualified homeopath. I am 82 years of age and have always been original in my thinking throughout my long life and it was in 1996 that I discovered that Arnica was indeed a Miracle Remedy when I had to use it myself twice daily in the Wet dose for an ailment. As you may be aware, the classical homeopathic rules stipulate that no remedy may be used on a long term basis but I went against these rules and proved that my therapy not only helped my problem but it did also have various bonus side effects which I then collated into my monograph on Arnica the Miracle Remedy.

You state:
'The inflammatory diseases makes perfect sense to me like colitis, IBS, arthritis, some forms if diabetes etc.
Alcoholism? So, do you start with something else in this case and finish with Arnica? Wouldn't a liver remedy serve well here?'

I have not used Arnica for Colitis and Arthritis but after you read the various other ailments that have been helped by Arnica, you will get a wider picture of the effectiveness of Arnica.

I am convinced that I owe to it my present state of wellness to Arnica as my BP is

I love your passion for wellness and people and that it resonates with the people whom you share your practical knowledge with.
25 years huh? Wow. :)

I actually believe myself that any classical/traditional healing/medical system usually requires modification to be viable in the modern age......while honouring the purposed principle of course. TCM is a very good example of this.
Our environments, our genes, our bodies have changed a lot over the years.

Arnica actually belongs to a group of remedies made from the Compositae family of plants, which have all proven extraordinarly useful to practitioners.

Chamomilla, Bellis perrenis, Lactusa virosa, Taraxacum, Eupatorium perfoliatum and so many more, all sharing qualities we first found in Arnica.

I have found this a wonderful group of remedies for many complaints associated with invasion of the body by parasites and pathogens, repeated physical traumas, and many emotional or mental shocks.

Brisbane: Isn't Lactusa virosa just a wild lettuce? What is this mostly prescribed for?
I am curious about this as I didn't know it would be used medicinally?
Sorry to go to off topic!

Yes it is wild lettuce. It is not a well known remedy, but I cured a case of Bell';s Palsy with it. I think I published the case online somewhere - I can look for it if you are interested.
