severe anal itching
Hello and thank you. It is quite an embarassing subject, but much more embarassing when you have it. I am in great distress over this and have tried so many things...cremes, suppositories, diet changes. Nothing works. I have extreme anal itching...to the point of raw skin/bleeding...in the middle of the night and in the mornings. It starts with a kind of feeling like insects are crawling under the skin and then i have to itch and rub until it hurts and then the itching subsides, and im left with a very painful bottom. I have to do something about this urgently because it is affecting my relationship seriously. I have tried the self diagnosis tool on this site, and have tried sulphur and Nat-A but still itching. It also says to try Alumina Petroleum and Agaricus Muscarius for my symptoms. Can anyone help me as to how much to take and if anyone has had success with homeopathics to heal this situation...please. I would be very grateful. All the best. sonjasonja on 2005-04-24

With that sort of reaction you do not have pinworm -- they are just a nuisance .
If its before midnight then it may be worth trying Thuja. Also if you have had any Vaccination jab recently. Or antibiotics for any genital problem.
The other major remedy is Sulphur. This works best if you get hot feet in bed , are untidy and have a bowel motion soon after waking.
In both case get 10m potency -- take one tablet and wait at least 7 days to judge how effective it is.
Disolve the tablet under the tongue and go to sleep [hopefully] .

Fear of cancer drove 'a friend of mine' to Dr. with similar problem. Women's Health center diagnosed 'Lichen Sclerosis'& sent her to dermatologist who perscribed 'Protopic (tacrolimus ointment)and alternate days 'Betamethasone Valerate' common brand name Beta-Val. Itching stopped within week and baby oil applied every day in vagina, area keeps skin supple and clean & keeps skin from breaking especially near vagina. I got copy of my medical records and found Dr. put name to symptoms years ago but never told me and never did anything for me. Forums like this where we can help each other saved my sanity. Sally

First see Dr. and get treated for pinworms. Then if he is very sure you don't have them try homeo. Pinworms are too easy to treat.

Wow sonja sounds like my issue exactly... And I've tried everything under the sun. Spent I don't know how much money and nothing has worked! I'm desperate and it's affecting my entire life. I don't have health insurance right now cause it's too expensive . Any recommendations... Go see a dermatologist? Get health insurance first? ER? I dunno... I'm so tired of this curse ...
