I discovered this thread because it relates to me. Would 30c silica be appropriate. It's what I have on hand.

30c is quite ok , tho' I would normally say lower potency.

You take one dose on three sucessive days at 24 hr intervals.

It should do the trick , only repeat if the problem returns.

How is he doing now? Did you give Silica 6x?

I tried Silica with my newborn and it worked wonders with his reflux/arching back. The second proving I got was from one of my collegues and her new born had the same problem and since I had Silica 30c with me, i gave it to her and she took 3 divided doses, 1 on each night of the three days and it worked wonders for her newborn as well. I suggest you should try this as well, if this is still a problem.

I have a 3 month old baby who was just diagnosed with reflux. My Ped sent me to an ENT because my son has had a hoarse voice on and off for a while. They scoped him and said that he has reflux. He had a little milk below his vocal cords. Otherwise he is healthy and happy. I read that silica 6x is the best thing to take. My Ped has recommended reglan and zantac, but I'm not going to put my baby on any drugs. Does anyone know how I should take the silica so that he gets it through my milk (I'm breasfeeding, by the way). I really don't want to put him on any medications, but I want his reflux to go away.

Silica: 6x twice daily for 10-14 days or 30c once a day for three days. Correct me if I am wrong Passkey. No eating half an hour before and after the dose and no coffee and caffeine. Also avoid strong smelling food.

ok, thanks. I also read about camamilla. Which one is better? Should I try both and see what works? I am new at homeopathy, so I am a little inexperienced as far as how to find the right remedy. Are there certain symptoms that Camamilla is good for and certain symptoms that respond better to silica? My son has a hoarse voice and cries sometimes when he starts to nurse. He spits up a little, but not a ton. It's mostly just wet burps, and a hoarse voice, and some intermittent crying. Please help! I don't want my baby on medication!

If what the doctors diagnosed as reflux and if he is completely on breastmilk, then I would suggest to start with Silica.
Most homeopaths straightaway name "Chamomille" as the natural choice for baby but only those who have had deeper understanding like "Passkey" are able to point out Silica.
It won't do any harm if you start with Silica 6x. You should start seeing results in about 3-4 days. If you don't see any improvements in 4-5 days, then open a new case on this site specifically asking for help from "Passkey" or "Sabra". This way they will notice your new post and will respond immediately. You can also search for user "Passkey" and get his email id from his profile and email him directly after 4-5 days of Silica 6x and no improvement thereof.

Are there any remedies available that would be administered directly to the baby? We feed the babies breast milk (after it has been pumped) and Similac baby formula. Please advise.

A friend of mine baby boy of age 2 month shas been passing loose stools since day 2 of his birth..these are his symptoms:
-born on 12th April 2011
-first two days of birth givena -double tonned packet milk since then passing loose stools like 25-30 times a day in little quantity.
-has been exclusively on breastfeed since day 3.
-passes stool if coughs or sneeze or gas
-vomits out plain milk ie. reflux
-gainning weight properly.he is 4.5 kg
-stool test report show infection.

help needed asap.
