This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
It is very likely that you are suffering from Gastritis aka GERD (Gastro Esophagal Reflux disease) and I shall copy the therapy I have prescribed to hundreds of patients who presented GERD, the large majority of whom have been cured.

Your remedies are as follows:

Nat Phos 6x dose 3-4 tablets taken immediately after each of 2 meals
Arnica 30c in the Wet dose taken twice daily.

You can expect relief from your ailment hopefully within 24 hours.
Do not eat large meals. Eat small meals but more often if you feel hungry. Do not drink more that a few sips of water after your meals. This is to prevent the further dilution of your gastric juice which can then reflux into your Esophagus which results in GERD.

It is important that you do not go to bed for at least 2 hours after dinner as food will take about this time to digest and it is best to stay awake and upright to enable your food to digest before going to bed.

No fatty food, alcohol, coffee, preserved meats like sausages, ham, bacon as they contain Saltpeter which will antidote the remedies listed immediately.

If you suffer from a stomach ache or you feel your stomach puffing up before a meal during the day between meals this is usually due to hunger pains, caused by your gastric juices attacking the inner wall of your stomach. The simple remedy is to eat some food like a biscuit or a banana to keep the gastric juice away from digesting the stomach wall when you will experience a stomach ache which in some cases can be very acute.

You must drink at least 3 liters of liquids, preferably water daily and you must also exercise for at least half hour daily to sweat it out as this is all part of my therapy to overcome GERD.

The Wet dose of any Homeopathic remedy is made as follows:

Order the remedy in a 5ml Liquid Alcohol pack also referred to as Liquid Dilution in a bottle preferably with a dropper arrangement.
Get a 500ml bottle of Spring Water from the nearest supermarket.
Pour out about 3cm of water from the bottle to leave some airspace.
Insert 3 drops of the remedy into the bottle and shake the bottle hard before you sip a capfull of the bottle or a large teaspoonful which is the dose.
Shaking the bottle hard is homeopathic succussion and this shaking must be done every time before sipping a capful of the bottle twice daily.

Please visit the links below which record the cases of other patients whom I have treated for GERD.

Hello Joe.

Thanks a lot for your advise and time.

I'll surely follow your instructions and hope I'll get a permanent treatment this time.

I just wanted to add a couple of more things.

1) occasionally I get sharp piercing pain in upper abdomen. Its just below the ribcage on the left side. Is this related to this?

2) Since 3 months I'm working in night shifts (night 11.30 to morning 8.30). Is it not recommended to continue this shift. I can request a different shift.

As you will realize I cannot diagnose your problem without a face to face consultation.

You will have to address your problem to a competent physician who can advise you and report his diagnosis to me here on this forum.

If you can possibly change your night shift to a day shift it will certainly help to cure your problem.

Hello Joe.

I feel sorry for myself for not starting this treatment right away.

However, I did eventually start following your advice for over a week. IT WORKED!!

Except for one instance, I've forgotten heartburn.

I'd like to ask and add a few things:

1) I'm from India(south), and I while going thru your posts, I see you stay in Sri Lanka. So you must be knowing indian subcontinent food habits. I mean, how hot and spicy is food over here. Keeping this in mind, would you suggest anything in addition?

2) Though refluxes stopped, belching persists. 3 to 4 burps after every meal are for sure. Is that okay?

Thanks,
s. Akshay

Glad to note that my Joepathy has helped you within a week. If you have visited the links I listed at the bottom of my first post you will see that many others who suffered from GERD have been helped and many cured.

The Nat Phos 6x helps to move the food quickly after digestion into the gut and thereby prevents the formation of acid in the stomach which resulted in the Heartburn you suffered from for the last year.

The Arnica 30c in the Wet dose will help to heal the inner lining of your Esophagus which has been eroded by the gastric juice and you are on the road to recovery.

It is best not to eat hot spicy curries as they will irritate your stomach and gut. And do not overeat as this taxes the stomach which will respond by producing acid which will again reflux into your throat. The belching you report can be considered as OK for the moment till your digestive system stabilizes in a few weeks.

I hope that you are doing some exercise on a daily basis as this is an essential part of your cure and following my instructions as prescribed.

Report your progress from time to time here on the ABC.
