I don't have nux v in 200c, only 30x. Should I give him the 30x while I wait for the 200c to arrive?

Sarah3NN last decade
No that will only delay cure, it is far too low a potency. Wait until the 200c comes in. I have prescribed it for your husband as well.

Okay, will do, and I guess that answers the question for my husband too. Thank you, I will order it right away!!

I expect that we'll get the Nux v 200c in the mail today or tomorrow. But, my son has a cold right now. Should I wait until he is better before giving him a dose?

I haven't given him any homeopathic medicines for the cold, just some raw honey mixed with cinnamon.

Nux-v is one of our primary remedies for colds and flus. I use it alot.

How sick is he?

brisbanehomoeopath last decade
He is not very sick, just a stuffy nose and a little bit of coughing. The stuffy nose makes it hard for him to nurse to sleep, though. Strangely, he seems to be sleeping BETTER since he got the cold. The previous two night before the cold were like his norm: frequent waking, lots of flailing and talking in his sleep. But the last 3 nights since he has had the cold, he has been waking less and sleeping quietly and still. Maybe just coincidence?

The nux v is here, so I can give him a dose today if you think that is advisable.

He's still working through the cold. Primarily just a stuffy nose.

Should I give him the first dose of nux v 200c?

Sarah3NN last decade
Okay, he is pretty much over his cold, and slept back to his normal (awful) pattern last night. So I just gave him his first dose of nux v 200c. I'll let you know how things go.

An acute like a cold will often temporarily suspend the chronic disease. The chronic symptoms always come back up again (unles by some incredibale chance the acute was so similar to the chronic it cures it, just like a remedy).

Night 1: Still woke frequently, but less moving around and talking than usual.

He was crankier than usual during the day, wanting to nurse frequently and crying more than usual about not getting exactly what he wanted.

Night 2: Slept REALLY well! I think he only woke 2-3 times, and was pretty still and quiet throughout the night.

I was pleasantly surprised since I was expecting him to sleep worse due to aggravation (since he typically is worse the 2nd night after a remedy). Maybe this time his aggravation was primarily the bad mood during the day.

I'll update again in a day or two. Thank you!

Night 3: He had a hard time going to sleep (took an hour). Then he slept relatively peacefully, with not much talking or flailing. Waking every 2 hours or so.

Night 4: Had a hard time going to sleep again. Some flailing and talking in his sleep. Woke every 2 hours or so.

Night 5: Had a hard time going to sleep again. More flailing and talking in his sleep than the previous night. Woke every 1-2 hours. (This is basically his 'normal' pattern of sleep, with the exception that he would normally go to sleep much easier at bedtime).

Night 6: slept pretty well. Quiet and still while asleep, and only seemed to wake about 3-4 times.

By the way, his eczema has stayed very nice and clear throughout the last week. His legs look great, and I can barely tell it is there, and this is especially exciting since we've had him in training pants part of the time as well. Previously, training pants resulted in much worse eczema from contact with his urine when the pants were pulled down.

I'll upate again tomorrow.

There is a bit of wobbling going on. This is not unusual in the first week.

Night 7: about the same as night 6. Quiet and still while asleep, and only seemed to wake about 3-4 times.

Night 8: back to his normal pattern of waking more frequently and flailing. Not much talking. He was very wakeful at many times throughout the night, having a hard time going back to sleep.

So we're definitely still wobbling!!

Night 9: Slept fairly well. Little (if any) talking or flailing, and seemed to wake less often.

Night 10: Had a bit of a hard time going to sleep (took about 45 minutes). Then slept fairly well. Little (if any) talking or flailing, and seemed to wake less often.

I did notice a bit more eczema on his legs today. Before, there was nothing obvious to see but they felt rough; now there is some scaly redness once again, but not much. Could be from wearing training pants much more the last few days, or even from sitting in the plastic baby swimming pool.

It is taking some time. Slow improvement often means a more permanent change, however it could also mean the dose or potency is not quite enough to finish the disease process.

If there is a slight return of the eczema, I suspect the disease is beginning to push back now.

brisbanehomoeopath last decade
Yep, the eczema is definitely back today! Not the worst it's ever been , but readily apparent.

Night 11: Had a hard time going to sleep (took an hour). Woke fairly frequently throughout the night, and was wakeful few times during the night. Not much flailing or talking, at least.

He's been fairly fussy today, as well.

If the disease is pushing back, is that a good thing, meaning we are on the right track?

Sarah3NN last decade
It means it is time to repeat the dose. Just do one and increase the amount of water you diluted in by 1/4 cup.

brisbanehomoeopath last decade
Oh, oops. If you want too long to give another dose, does it cause aggravation all over again?

I gave him a dose last night. Two taps on the bottle, then a drop in 3/4 cup water.

Night 1: Slept okay the first half of the night. Little (if any) flailing or talking, and not waking very frequently. Wakeful towards morning (around 4am).

His eczema is markedly better today!

Night 2: woke frequently and wakeful throughout the night.

Night 3: woke frequently, with a little talking/flailing in his sleep.

Eczema is still looking very good.

Sarah3NN last decade
Night 4: slept well first half of night. Wakeful from about 3am onwards to morning.

Night 5: A little bit of yelling/talking in his sleep. Relatively still while asleep. Slept 3 hours straight and then woke probably every 2 hours or so.

Eczema is not red anymore. It is rather bumpy right now, though (a bit worse than a couple days ago).

Sarah3NN last decade
Night 6: Slept okay first half of night. Then wakeful and moving around TONS for an hour or two, and even standing up in bed at one point. Then I think he went back to sleeping relatively quietly and still the remainder of the night, waking every 1-2 hours.

Sarah3NN last decade
Night 7: woke frequently, every 1-2 hours. Relatively quiet and still though.

Sarah3NN last decade
Night 8: Woke frequently (every 1-2 hours). LOTS of moving around and wakefulness. Relatively quiet, though.

Based on the type of information you asked for in my husband's case, I'll try to be a bit more specific on this too:

Things are not very consistent. Originally, he would sleep 1-2 hours at a time, with lots of talking in his sleep and flailing around.

Overall, he is sleeping more quietly now.

Some nights he is still now, but some night he is moving around more than before, and moving differently than before. Previously, it was more like flailing with arms and legs, now it is more like tossing and turning, scooting around, trying to get off bed, turning 'upside down' in bed.

His sleep duration hasn't drastically changed, although we have had a couple night with a little longer sleep duration.

He is often wakeful in the middle of the night now (this was never really something that happened before).

Eczema has come and gone (but it was actually gone before the nux anyway, so maybe it reacted well to one of the other previous remedies).

What do you think the next step is?

Night 9: Slept about 3-4 hours initially; then wakeful and frequent waking the remainder of the night.

Eczema is looking pretty noticeable again. Seems more bumpy then normal, and very scaly. It is also on the front of his legs now, where it has never been before.
