Stop Underarm BO

This is strictly not a Homeopathic subject but I thought that it may be of interest to whoever is sensitive to Underarm BO and how I was able to successfully eradicate it.

I have been using Johnson's Baby Shampoo under the arms to overcome the unpleasant BO which many of us suffer from. I believe that the use of soap permits the bacteria that are the cause to propagate freely, resulting in the smell.

I use a few drops of the shampoo, just sufficient to create bubbles and lather it well under the arms. The resultant effect is unbelieveable, as although one perspires freely here in the tropics, there is absolutely no smell and this can be verified by smelling one's shirts under the arms. The use of this Baby Shampoo treats the cause of the problem and not the effect as is the case with the many deoderants avilable.

I have verified the efficacy of this Baby Shampoo in eliminating BO by reverting back to bath soap when the effect is felt within a few hours after, when the perspiration starts to be unpleasant.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
This is wonderful to know. Thank you so much for posting this information.

I used to have a general itchy (no rash) type of body and a friend also suggested I try hair shampoo. I have been washing with Pert for many years. I use another bar on my face which is super oily. A side benefit is that there is no ring around the tub...SABRA

It is possible that the use of Johnson's Baby Shampoo may make your skin less sensitive and
I would like to have your feed back after you have used it for some time.

To me it was quite a pleasant surprise when I first used it as BO was something that I had lived with for over half a century and with the first application of this baby shampoo, which I also did to stop an itchy sensation under my arms, I discovered that BO was history.

It occurs to me that you might also
consider using Bell 30 to help your problem.

Joe,
Does the baby shampoo contain more natural ingredients and no chemical additives, like underarm deodorant...I have been using the natural deod., that allows for perspiration and no odor, but dependent on my diet...I have break through BO! Thanks for the advice! Loree

Loree,

Johnson's Baby Shampoo is the product that I have used for many years on my hair and under the arms
and I am so glad that there are many visitors who have read my posting. I hope that they too will be able to eradicate BO permanently by using this or any other equivalent baby shampoo.

At first I was reluctant to post my discovery in a Homeopathic BB but since it also dealt with health I thought that it would be of interest to readers.

The formula for Baby Shampoo is quite different from bath soap and the formula for Johnson's is:

Water, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, PEG-80 Sorbitan Laurate, Sodium Trideceth Sulfate, PEG-150 Distearate, Fragrance, Polyquaternium-10, Tetrasodium EDTA, Quaternium-15, Citric Acid, Yellow 10 and Orange 4.

These ingredients are quite different from soap and this is the reason why this shampoo does not irritate the eyes. I believe that it is the alkali used in soap that is the cause of the under arm BO as the resultant ph of the skin after soaping promotes the bacteria to propagate thereby resulting in the unpleasant smell.

Underarm Deodorants have many chemical formulas. The most dangerous of them are the roll on types which invariably block the pores and the hair follicles. These types have been found recently to have a direct connection with breast cancer in women. The other spray on types may perhaps not be so dangerous but I believe that their scent which in most cases is unpleasant and is usually very strong, only serves to replace the unpleasant smell of BO with another which is perhaps equally unpleasant especially when it has combined with the BO after a few hours.

I do hope that more people would stop using under arm deoderants and switch over to using Baby shampoo both under the arms and also on their hair as the hair too will react positively to it.

Hi There,
I was just catching up on this BB when I read your post. It is amazing that I have just recently become interested in the link with antipersperant and breast cancer and then I read your post. I was busy looking for aluminium free products. I have come across those wipes which I have yet to try but meet the criteria, although they couldn't be very environmentally friendly. The best 'natural'product I have come across is the crystal which you apply to wet skin/wet and apply to dry skin. You can get these from 'Lush'/ health stores. Mine is made from bicarbonate and sandelwood oil. I have just recently seen something similar commercially packaged in a high street chemists so I think they are about to become 'big'.

Very interesting opinions. Johnsons baby shampoo is also a differnt Ph to Soap. JB Shampoo is closer to our skin Ph which is why it doesn't cause tears. Normal soap stings if you get it in your eyes JBS doesn't because of the Ph makes the skin more friendly for the right bacteria to grow and thus eliminating smells and problems.

Thank you for renewing my post which dates back to last May. I have used JBS for about 20 years and have never had any problems with BO. I have recommended it to many hundreds of people and they all are thankful to me for having told them of this discovery which I had not mentioned for 20 years except to my immediate friends.
I am glad that you renewed this post as it will now appear at the top of this Forum and will hopefully be read by all who are bothered with this problem. It may also serve to keep cancer away in the case of women as the standard underarm cosmetics, especially those that block the pores have been found to be a direct cause of breast cancer.

You may be interested in another of my 'discoveries' which pertains to a safe method of shedding weight which I discovered only 2 months ago and which has worked in all cases that I have recommended it to.

Is the the original Johnsons baby shampoo? Do you put a few drops on after showering and wear it like a deoderant? How long does it keep you odor free?
