ADD in Adult

My son has difficulty with maintaining mental focus while performing tasks and during conversation. He is 20 but has had this problem all his life. He is asking for help.

Here is how we would describe his behaviors:
-day dreaming, disruptive thoughts, disorganized, apathy, attracted to other things or people that are stimulating (eg, video games, other people who tend to get in trouble)
-docile, highly creative and intelligent, loves math, plays with number patterns in his head which often distracts him from completing actual math homework.

I have been reading about Helleborous Niger. Would this help him? if so, how should it be administered?
