SEVERE Allergies
My dad has had terrible allergies for about 10 years now, and it's only getting worse. He had surgery a couple years ago to remove polyps in his nose, but it seems that they have come back after just a few years. He cannot breathe or smell out of his nose at all, and now it seems to be moving down into his chest. He has tried various different allergy medicines, he rinses with saline, steams his face, but it is constant. We used to have a cat (who was blamed for the terrible allergies), which is gone now and nothing has changed even after thorough cleanings of the entire house and removing the rugs.My question is if anyone has any idea behind the spiritual/emotional reasons behind allergies, and if there are any homeopathic solutions I could get him to try. I've tried giving him the normal allergy solutions like local honey, garlic, etc., but his allergies are beyond those simple solutions. He's not the type to accept most homeopathic/alternative medicines, but I think he's willing to try anything now.
Please help! This has been affecting him for so long and I wish to help him be happier!
Thank you for anything you can give me.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
How did this start?
Is there a nasal discharge, or is it dry?
What triggers the allergy now?
How does it get better?

He's always had allergies, but it got much worse about 6 or 7 years ago, seemingly for no reason.
He's always blowing his nose, but he is constantly stuffed up, no matter how much he blows his nose.
He pretty much has constant allergies, but pollen, dust, humidity, animal allergens seem to trigger worse reactions.
It doesn't get better.

Please describe the nasal discharge, if it's there? Or is it dry?
Does he sweat much?
Any other issues?

Ha, well I've never looked at his discharge, but it is there almost always. It's not dry. His nose is almost always running, though it is much worse in springtime when everything is blooming.
He does sweat a lot.
He has other issues. He has diabetes, arthritis, foot problems, back problems, but these allergies seem to make him most miserable because he can't smell and he can't breathe properly. I have a feeling that the allergies are symptoms of another bigger issue and normal allergy remedies are not going to do much good.

Yes that may be the case. So now we need to probe a little deeper. Please copy the questions here from the below thread and provide your answers in as much detail as possible. If luck is on our side, we may find the medicine that gives relief quickly (although he is going to need many remedies, one after the other):
