acid reflux small child
I took my 4 year old to the dentist yesterday and I was told that he had very shinny teeth. He then asked if he had acid reflux. He has never had acid reflux that I know about but I am worried now. The dentist then asked if he drank lots of juice or sugary drinks and he does not. I don't buy it. He does drink plenty of green smoothies. How can I restore his enamel and what could be causing this?Monika Corn on 2014-01-10
This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
He did not say that the enamel was damaged but said that his teeth were very shinny. I assume that there is some damage with that statement. He is a pediatric dentist so maybe that is his 'lingo'.
His 'shinny' teeth made him think my son has acid reflux. But he does not complain about any of the associated symptoms with acid reflux. What could be going on to make his teeth.
He did have some food allergies early in life that made him vomit regularly until we identified them. I asked the dentist and he said that was too long ago to be considered now.
Thank you!
