11 month old son with milk allergies
My 11 month old son has an allergy to milk products including goat's milk, because of this, his fussy eating habits and his not wanting to breastfeed he wasn't been gaining weight. His height and head growth is still good. His doctor is concerned about his weight and we are trying to feed him as often as possible but I am running out of options for his liquid intake and I am becoming stressed. please help.Serena on 2005-10-27

He breaks out into a rash, throwing up and a lot of sneezing. this happens when he eats yogurt, cottage cheese, goat's milk etc. Just a bite or two will cause this. The rash happens almost instantly and the others things happen up to an hour later. thanks, serena.

the throwing up the sneezing these happen an hour later. then he is very clingy and fussy. he get's gassy when I eat milk products, which isn't very often. He will drink breast milk with no problem but he doesn't like to breastfeed and it is becoming more difficult to get him to drink expressed because he doesn't care to really drink much of anythink. He will drink a few sips of water at a time but only from a clear glass. He hasn't had much contact with milk products himself because of the reaction to first contact to them so that is really all I can tell you about that.

I just really would like to know what my other options to replace milk I can give him since he is trying to wean himself off the breast and I hate having to try to make him eat or drink something constantly. He is very stubborn and strong willed, if he doesn't want something you can not for the life of you get him to take it. And because he is not gaining weight this is what I am trying to do, continually fighting with him to breastfeed or drink it expressed. I really don't know what else I can do. I keep getting told to just continue what I am doing it will get better.

At this age, you could give formula milk from market and also formula cereal food.
AS far as milk and milk products are concerned, Aethusa 30C is very effective in stopping throw. Give 1 pillule 3times daily and see the result.
