Hi fitness,

Updating further from yesterday. Last dose of pulsatilla 30c was Wednesday.

Since yesterday, Molly's vomiting has stopped. Her appetite still isn't as good as it has been, she's now looking for food, either refusing or eating small amounts. She ate very little over night last night too.

Last night, she did actually manage to climb up to me when I was in the kitchen, this is the first time she's managed it.

Today,

No more palpitations!

No more vomiting, as yet.

Although still doing very well, appetite has reduced, Molly is looking for food and either eating very small amounts or refusing again. She's quieter than she was on Thursday.

I will wait for further instructions, I have ordered pulsatilla 200c and should have it by Monday. Should I repeat a further dose of 30c and see if we can get her eating better again?

Best wishes,

Kirsty

Morning Fitness,

Hope you're well!

I'm reporting on the last 3 days with Molly and also realised a couple of things I'll explain at the end

Sunday - pulsatilla 30c at 2.30pm

Within a few minutes, perked up, enjoying being clapped, purring away. She is taking the remedy slightly better. Still having to wrap her up and a blanket to keep her paws out the way but she is protesting less.

Within 10 minutes, up and on her feet, very alert, looking for attention. Followed me in to the living room, came for a cuddle then went and slept behind me on the back of the sofa

Quicker on her feet

Molly got up about 3.15pm and had a drink.

Extremely curious tonight. We've had pine cones out since Xmas, she was up on one of the tables playing with them, sniffing and licking them, as soon as she started that I took them away. She then moved on to sniffing around otherornaments we've had for years.

I had made passion fruit zambaglione with vanilla soya yoghurt, she was rubbing herself against the empty glass

My mum came home a few hours later ( she and nuala (my dog) aren't affected by my mum not being here. I've had repeated hospital stays over the last few years and when I go in both animals refuse to eat) and called her 'bright eyes' she's very alert, energetic and lots of strong purring and enjoying lots of cuddles. Very specific tonight about where she wants clapped.

Started something else tonight she used to do and hasn't done for a while - sleeping behind me on the couch, playing with my hair before she goes to sleep and sleeps with the paw resting against my head and then starts again when she wakes up. Only does it for about 1 minute but she hadn't done this for a while.

Eating better again tonight.

7pm a tspn amount of vomit - food andlight brown liquid

Lots of bunting/allorubbing going on tonight, she seems very content. Again, it's mainly me they come to for attention and the dog got a swipe again tonight. I don't allow it to happen with either of them, but they do (dog and cat) wind each other up.

Monday

Very chirpy and energetic this morning. Has eaten overnight - Tuna. Gave her more this morning, she refused so tried with chicken and she ate it.

She's been spending more time with Lucy (her daughter, 20 in August) sleeping beside her, grooming each other and this is having a very positive effect on Lucy.

Visitors today, Molly was straight in doing the rounds and then came back to sit with me.

Sleeping very relaxed and in the livingroom.

More bunting today too.

Heart rate is exactly the same as the first reading I managed to take 52 beats in 15 seconds/208 per minute. Respiration rest rate is 6.5 in 15 seconds = 26 per minute (both considered within the normal range)

Tuesday

Up and about when I got up this morning, had cuddles and quite happy.

Not eating as well as she previously has done last week. Was refusing food again, to see if she had an appetite or not tried her with some wafer thin turkey and she devoured it. This has been an ongoing behaviour with Molly, it's nothing new. Even with cat food we had to buy mixed flavours - she would eat for a day or 2 and then refuse until it changed.

I was out for about 5 hours today, came in and she was still sleeping but woke as soon as I walked in to the kitchen. She was a very happy cat!

Her weight has went down slightly so she's definitely not eating what she was or needs to.

Bit clingy today when I tried to put her down off my lap. No further vomiting today either.

Wednesday

This morning when I got up, I actually found Molly eating regular cat food - hills prescription id. Molly was refusing to eat this after a few weeks, I partly put that down to her mouth/gum disease as it's a dry food so we changed it over to the wet food which I was mashing up for her but again, she was licking round about it and eventually refused to eat it and that's when I put her back on fish/chicken diet. I don't know how much of the cat food she has eaten, wether she has just picked at it or not but she has left the fish from last night.

Also, we put the radiator in the kitchen off, noticed again last night she was sleeping on the hall floor a lot - hours! Then realised, the tumble dryer was on and the kitchen is like a sauna when it's on, I can only be in there for a few minutes myself. This is why she spends longer periods than others in the hall.

So at the moment, she's still improving but needs to be that bit better if she's able. I still have more 30c and also have 200c now so I'll wait until I hear back from you before doing anything else.

Best wishes,

Kirsty

Hi fitness,

A further update on Molly - she has just been sick about 1 tbspn of slightly foamy bile and then a approx tsp. She is still bright and alert and looking for food but not eaten tonight.

Today up until tonight

Doing well this morning, eaten overnight and more fish again this morning.

Sleeping lots today, in her usual spot but very alert and seems happy when awake. This may have been the case before today but first I've noticed, she has really hot ears when she's sleeping but cool down again as soon as she's up and about.

I was making dinner, my back to her, tonight she jumped up on to one of the kitchen chairs and tried to climb up my back, might have managed it but it hurtso I stopped her. She sat for a while for a cuddle and was happy with that.

She's lying behind me at the moment purring away. We have visitors just now, started off on my knee meowing. She's on the move now and going for cuddles.

Further advice would be appreciated,

Best wishes,

Kirsty

Hi Fitness,

I hope your well!

Just a further update on Molly as she's bringing up about 10ml of foamy bile again this morning. Last night about 11.30 I put Lucy's food down for her. It's hills science pets Id for gastrointestinal health. We moved on to this at the start of Molly's problems about 7 months ago and she was being sick with regular senior cat food and was diagnosed with gastritis. Lucy loves this food. With it being dry, Molly was struggling to eat it so we got her the same food but in wet pouches. As Isaid before though, she ate it for a while and then stopped. Molly is now eating some of the dry food, it's been her decision as the fresh fish is still there for her to eat and I wouldn't even consider removing it until she no longer wants or needs it.

Should I be stopping her from eating the dry food?

Apart from being sick this morning sheis a bit quieter again but still happy and active.

I gave her pulsatilla 30c at 10pm on Thursday night.

Obs for Friday are:

Molly has very healthy appetite this morning. Has eaten her fish over night, has eaten more this morning at 7.30 and again wanted more at 11am so I gave her more. She ate half of it and then finished it at 12.30. This has been her best appetite yet.

Up and active this morning - cuddles, following me about (she's always done this, even as a young cat. If she was out and saw me out, she would follow me about in anything I was doing) cleaning herself, generally looking happy and content.

Sleeping lots today, but happy and content and coming for cuddles in between. I woke her up a few times checking her temperature of her ears and was even happy about this. The temperature of her ears, to touch, was slightly cooler.

This morning, hadn't eaten much fish over night but she has obviously been eating the dry food.

She's spent most of the morning with Lucy, again Lucy is loving this. Molly is still not too happy with Lucy or the nuala (the dog) getting attention but Lucy is getting more confident as the days go on so not a huge problem for her anymore. I spend time daily with Lucy working on improving her confidence and lessening her fears and she's doing great.

If you could advise on Molly again, it would be appreciated.

Best wishes,

Kirsty

If there is a specific food causing aggravation, its better to avoid it for sometime.

fitness last decade
Ok, I will figure out a way of stopping her. Today, again she is looking for food but not eating.

Should I wait or further dose?

Best wishes,

Kirsty

I don't see the need of a dose now.

Ok, I'll be in touch as soon as there's any deterioration/no further improvement.

Thanks again for the advice.

Have a nice weekend,

Hi Fitness,

Just a quick post to let you know Molly is still doing well! Hard to believe she was potentially dying just over 2 weeks ago. Thanks for your help in getting her better so far - she's such a strong cat and feeling very proud to still have her with us.

I'll be in touch when she's needing more help!

Best wishes,

Kirsty

Hi Fitness,

Molly has palpitations this morning. She's still doing well, no vomiting and a slight change in behaviour with me and Lucy. She's not normally too happy with me spending time with Lucy but last night and today she has been happier with me clapping both of them at the same time - one hand each.

She is chewing slightly to the side again. Other than these 2 issues sliding back a bit, overall she's doing well. Her last dose of pulsatilla was last Thursday at 10pm.

She seems a lot stronger on her feet now aswell.

If you could advise further it would be appreciated.

Best wishes,

Kirsty

Every living being goes through minor ups & downs which don't require intervention, same is the case here.

Unless some real symptoms crop up, please let her be.

fitness last decade
Ok, I will do!

I was wondering if it could have been a bit of stress relating to getting a bit better with Lucy?

Just wanted to double check with you though.

Thanks again,

Best wishes,

Kirsty

It is likely.

Hi Fitness,

Hope your well!

Just keeping you posted on Molly. She's doing really well! No further dosing since the last one, as yet.

No more vomiting, less clingy, happy lying beside me, unless there's others around, eating very well - now the worst seems over for now anyway, I have been a bit more persistent with her eating - not quite so quick to give her something different and seems to be working! Still on fresh fish but not breaking it up as much as she's now eating and chewing without any difficulty. Heart rate, respiration rate apart from a few days before her last dose, has remained stable, hardly ever on the hall floor sleeping now either, so a very happy cat for now. I will be in touch as soon as there is any deterioration, but so far all seems well.

Thanks and best wishes,

Kirsty
