The ABC Homeopathy Forum

help my 6yr old ADHD son

Hi everybody
I am new to this forum. My 6yr old son has symptoms of ADHD and his school teacher also finds the same. There are lot of homeo remedies and I am confused which one to start with. Here are the symptoms:
Hyperactive, impulsive, poor motor skill and body balance, easily distracted, lack of focus and concentration, very loud voice no matter where he is, fidgeting, can never sit still at home or at school (except watching TV or playing computer or video games), finds hard to follow direction, imagines himself like all the super heroes and runs and jumps around, But never aggressive at all.
He is very friendly in nature and wants company. He loves to play with his 3yr old brother. He loves music and likes to sing and dance. He is also learning piano, very interested in sports (basketball and baseball), he started going for Tae-kwon-Do and likes the same too. Everyday morning he does 1/2 hr of kids yoga. He is full of energy.
As per academics he is a very good reader but he lacks comprehension because he is not able to sit still. Math he is good for his grade level. Thanks to Kumon.
As per eating habit, he likes noodles, pasta, rice, pizza, loves fish, chicken and hotdogs, cooked vegetables, hates fruits but sometimes he eats banana and apples. I give him chamomile tea along with milk and omega-3 capsule. We totally removed artificial foods and all dyes(red, blue, yellow).
In general, he is a loving active boy and liked by all kids but he is bullied by his friends for which he gets upset.
Please help me and any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
casie.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
It's all a shame, since ADHD is a fictitious disease that was invented in order to sell prescription drugs. There is actually no such disease -- the ADHD symptoms are primarily caused by children's diets: soft drinks, refined white flour, loads of refined white sugar, and plenty of fried foods and processed foods to boot. Take a child off these manufactured substances and start feeding them real food and the "disease" of ADHD vanishes in a matter of weeks. This has all been succinctly demonstrated through a clinical study that found dietary changes completely eliminate the so-called disease.

I am familiar with your story, similiar to my son's. We found a homeopathic doctor with lots and lots of experience and we trusted him. He gave us our son back by treating him with a constitutional remedy. So, don't give up. Read the book, Ritalin Free Kids and call the Dr. that wrote the book if you can't find a good homeopath in your area. His number is in the back of the book. I agree with the previous poster that diet helps, it only helps with some of the symtoms but it doesn't rewire our kids brains. We will always have to deal with the fact that our children process things differently. Doesn't mean they have to be "disabled". They have to learn good coping techniques for the weaknesses they have. Good luck!

Thanks to you both for the reply. I am trying to find an homeopath in my area and also ordered the Ritalin Free Kids book. I Will keep posting after consulting with a doc. Thanks again.

Instead of receiving treatment for their real disorders -- whether they are food allergies, hypoglycemia or heavy metal toxicity -- mainstream doctors put children diagnosed with ADHD, for example, on Ritalin and other pharmaceutical drugs. These pharmaceuticals keep children subdued in the classroom and at home, but as Dr. Block cautions, a quieter, medicated child isn't necessarily a child who is learning better. For example, let's say a child who is allergic to chocolate is medicated with an ADHD drug but is still eating chocolate, the child will still have difficulty concentrating and paying attention, even though he or she is no longer "acting out."
Beware of lead -- According to Professor Woodruff of the EPA's article on environmentally-induced childhood diseases, lead exposure is linked to hyperactivity, impulsivity and attention problems -- in other words, the symptoms commonly attributed to ADHD.

To Munish. What is wrong with you. Can't you read? He said he took artificial foods out of the kids diet etc. Do you just put it on every forum about ADHD? You put this on mine too when I had a question about ADHD. Do you have any children? I was a health nut for 10 years before I became pregnant. Never gave him artificial foods or let him watch TV and he still has it, and I suspected he had it already at the age of 8 months of age. I have it also. 3 words - GET A LIFE - and stop being an annoyance and distraction to those of us who need these people's help.

to casie00. My son sounds a lot like yours, but does get mean sometimes and has rage. I give him supplements and natural foods also. Are you aware that a lot of ADHD kids have food allergies? Mine does. Milk and wheat are prime suspects. Maybe you should have him tested to check. It doesn't mean he won't still be ADHD, mine still does, but he may feel better. There is a book called 'Feeding the Hyperactive Brain' by ? (I've forgotten). A lot of ADHD kids are low in minerals like Magnesium, Zinc, Iron and need extra protein to make neurotransmitters to help their brains work better. Also balancing each meal with some protein can keep blood sugar more stable and thereby help behaviour. Pycogenol and 5-htp are the only things lately that have shown any change in my son, and it's only an incremental change, but anything that helps gets us a little further to helping him get through life easier, since ultimately it's the future us parents are worried about. I have been doing the other nutritional things for years already. I'm not a doctor and don't know everything, but I wanted to let you know in case you haven't checked it out.
