My 5 year old daughter often grinds her teeth while she sleeps. First of, what causes this, and secondly, is there anything she can take to stop it?veralucia on 2005-11-26
This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
It can come from anger or anxiety. I would ask her if there is something that someone did or said to her that is upsetting her. Is your home life stable, loving, and secure?
A dentist can fit her with a mouth appliance that she wears while sleep so that she can't clamp down on her teeth and grind them.

Grinding the teeth in that fashion is part of the hereditary tubercular miasm .
Simply means that at some time in the dim and distant past some member of the family had TB .
Jumps generations and shows up in this innoccuous fashion.
A few doses of Tuberculinum 30c will settle the problem and benefit general health .

Hi,
Thanks for the info. Both very interesting. I don't know about anxiety because here we are always very loving people. There is the ocassional argument, but nothing severe. I will definitely have a chat with the dentist next time I go in.
As for TB, I never thought of that. It's strange but of course we can't count it out. I just don't want her to break her teeth, even though they are baby teeth still, if she keeps it up, she might destroy the adult ones. I will see if I can get that stuff for her, the tuberculinum.
Thanks,
Vera

How many times should I give my daughter this remedy per day? Isn't 30c maybe too much. She doesn't get it every single night, it's just once in a while.

I also grind my teeth at night, is Tub 30c a safe remedy to try for this for all ages? I have tried other remedies in the past for it with no luck. Scary to think of having worms!

In not-developed countries where drinking water may not be well treated before supply or drawn from un-treated sources or if root vegetables are not soaked and washed in disinfectant(consumed without cooking), having intestinal parasites is not surprising. I mentioned this in my earlier posting because in this anonymous exercise we do not know the location of the patient on the map. So daneo52 pardon me for scaring you.
There are other symptoms to indicate worms besides grinding of teeth during sleep. Child getting severe pain all of a sudden at any time, getting up with a start and crying with vomitting or sensation in the morning, yellow bridge across the nose, boring nose with finger, itching at the anus, eating too much without benifitting from it, coated tongue(details not in short write-up), yellow spots on face, eocinophile in blood high, leaden colour semi-circles under the eye lids etc. Quite often the stool/saliva test also misses it an when in doubt see the doctor.

Hi Sahai,
Do not worry, I was not scared, since I do not think I have been exposed to this, but it is a scary thought in general.
I am going to try the Tub for grinding. Can anyone advise on how often to take it? And if I have taken another remedy recently, how long must I wait to take a new one? Thank you.

Tuberculinum is not advised in potency less than 30. It is taken once and repeated only if the symptoms appear again.
What remedy have you taken recently?

A pharmacist gave me 2 doses of Folliculinum 200c to take, one 2 months ago, and one just a few days ago. I had been on birth control pills for 15 years, then stopped and was having no period for some months. This did help. I am also to drink raspberry leaf tea.
I have been grinding my teeth for such a long time and it is really damaging my teeth and gums. I have tried many different treatments, spent so much money on it-recently several months with a chiropractor, but with absolutely no results.
Thank you for your help Sahai.
