pcos puzzle

My daughter is 21 yrs old, 118 lbs., 5'5" healthy, active, not sexually active. Her period never became regular and then stopped all together. She has been put on the pill multiple times and has a period when she is on it. Her blood tests showed PCOS indicators like high testosterone. Over the last couple of years her hormone levels have normalized. Sonagram shows no cysts, but still she has no period or any menstual symptoms. What can we do?

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Hi bruinmom,

Curious, is your daughter a UCLA student? ( we have people
on here from all over the world)

Have you ever tried homeopathy before, for her or
family members?

Regards,

Simone

Yes, she's at UCLA :). I have used Homeopathy a lot and have been with a homeopathic practitioner with her but we are both feeling stumped at this point. Looking for new ideas.

Hi-thought it had to be UCLA :-)

In order not to go down the same path, you need
to list:

A. Is she on the pill now?

B. When did the homeopathic treatment begin,
and what were the remedies used, potencies and
dosages?

What went on after taking them?

( details on this)

Regards,

Simone

Did any of these produce any effects of having any
periods or regular periods for any time?

Is your homeopath a person who just does homeopathy?
And do they do classical homeopathy?

Or are they a naturopath or some other type practioner?

Did they give a potency and wait to see results?
Or were they doing protocols, as in, take this everyday
for two weeks Etc.

simone717 8 years ago
She is a classic homeopath. A group of remedies and sometimes some herbs too would be prescribed. We'd go a couple of months then re-evaluate. Only slight changes. No stand out successes. The first few remedies: Pulsatilla, Sepia… did bring the testosterone down significantly but no period resulted.

Hi-

I am trying to figure out what the homeopath did.

A classical or follower of Hahnemann would not
prescribe a "group" of remedies. Do you mean
taking two at once? Like pulsatilla and Sepia?? or
alternate days?

And herbs too? No one can tell what anything is really
doing if you do it like that, so I am not surprised
that nothing worked.

I'm trying to summarize. Remedies were not taken at the same time but spaced out during the day or alternating days. Teas were not taken at the same time as remedies. Each remedies effect was looked at. There has been a lot of different prescriptions over the course of 3 1/2 years.

Dr. Pankaj, can you help me?

bruinmom 8 years ago
The point is that currently she has balanced hormones and no cysts, but no period.

So, are you saying, Pulsatilla
every other day, and during
the same week Sepia spaced out
also?

Or was Pulsatilla tried alone
spaced out and then evaluated,
and then wait some time and
then start Sepia?

This is important bc if you give a certain
amount of doses, lets say 3 max- then you wait.
Bc when you have a remedy and don't wait,
to see the result, you will overdose. When
you overdose, you will produce the opposite
effect of what you were giving it for-
you bring the old symptoms back.

My advice is :

Here are two homeopaths I trust who really follow the rules,
and are also homeopathic teachers and lecturers. You can do this
by phone if you want. One is in Santa Barbara, so you could drive
up there for the first visit and do follow ups by phone.

Mary Aspinwall- Santa Barbara-check out her site, she is very
highly regarded.

Lia Bello- Lia has over 25 years, and is a nurse homeopath in
NM- Her site has been under construction- 505-474-4917

Or you could have the case re-taken on this site. It has to be
retaken. If you want to do that, I would make a new thread,
and ask for Rishimba, he is a homeopathic Dr who volunteers on here.

Sorry but Dr. Pankaj passed
away some years ago.

I was inquisitive when I read the title of this thread. In such cases, we need to know exactly what lead to the cessation of periods.

A very important question would be - What was happening in her life when periods stopped?

rishimba 8 years ago
I don't know why her period stopped. From the time it started (she was 13, I think) it never became regular in flow or timing, then it just got gradually less and less.
