biting my lips

I am a 31 yr old female with a bad habit of biting my lower lip since my childhood. I promise myself not to do it millions of times but the next moment I am doing it again. My lip became callous. It begins to heal and becomes crusty, and then I begin to bite again.I am scared that someday it will turn to cancer because of continous irritation. Could you please help me?
