Zuummaa,
I was using the normal iodine for a week++ .And I saw the decrease in hairfall within 4 or 5 days. But with the decolorised iodine ,I still haven't found much change.Might be the iodine % is less in this.

Because of the terrible itching and scaly formation on my scalp with the normal iodine, I stopped it and ordered 5 bottles of decolorized iodine from the drug store, which took a month to be shipped to me. Now I am left with only one bottle and so thought of ordering again. I wouldn't find any other online store shipping internationally.

How many days, does a 1 oz bottle of iodine, last for you?

Thanks for your help.
Dinos.

Dinos,

I had 2 oz bottle which lasted about 2 1/2 months. I use it with q'tips (you know the ear cleaners) so it does not take much to apply through out the scalp. Remember I rest every third day when I use the coconut oil/arnica, and of course, I had lazy days where I skipped applying :). You seem to use up quite a bit? If you use cotton balls, then you are probably wasting a lot of iodine. I would say use either q'tips or fingertips and apply very lightly.

Thanks for the info and advice.
I have been using cotton balls so far. That might be the reason for using up so much .
Thanks.

I have been using Arnice 30 in the wet solution as recemmended by Joe De L. for four months now. The total hairloss each day is much reduced. However , I have long hair and I notice lots of small shorter hairs falling out that have only grown a few cms. My hair is still noticeably thinning around the temples so that the scalp is beginning to show through and this is really worrying me. The rest of my head seems much better. I was thinking of trying your arnica Mother tincture/coconut mix every third day with the decolourized iodine in between.

I wanted to ask you when you wash your hair during this regime, how often, and at what time of day?
Thank you for your help

Hannah-
I wash my hair once a week, in the evening -- I am not sure the time of day matters. I have always washed my hair once a week. The odor of the iodine is strong when you first put it on (it makes you feel like you have to wash your hair more often) but by morning it is gone so it doesnt bother me. Also, I am beginning to sort of like the smell of coconut oil! I put a couple of drops of rosemary/lavender essential oil for shine which actually gives your hair a nice light scent.

Also, to let you know, I still have not noticed much of regrowth but the falling is under control and my hair is overall healthier. I find it is worth sticking with the routine and see what happens.

zuummaa last decade
You mentioned in your original poat that you saw significant regrowth in the temple area. By this, do you mean around the front hairline. If so, how long after statting the treatment did you notice the regrowth at the front?
Many thanks for replying so quickly. I really appreciate it.

hannah-rj last decade
The significant regrowth was in the front hairline area (where it was slowly receding). I noticed it within about 3 weeks after using the iodine. But I have not seen much difference after the initial burst of growth during the first few weeks. Also, I have not seen noticeable regrowth anywhere else where my hair is thinning.

To Zuummaa and Hannah

I read your posts on page 2 and feel that the loss of the new growth may be due to the Iodine.

My advice to you both is to stick with my formula which has been proved and has benifited many.

I note that one of you has used some essential oil to add a scent but this too can be counterproductive as it can antidote the Arnica.

I have discovered that Olive oil too can be used as it seems to be less aromatic than the Coconut oil. The mix is the same 20% and the container must always be shaken hard to emulsify the solution as the Arnica Q will always separate to the bottom of the solution as it is alcohol based.

Please note that only a few drops of the mix is required and you can massage it daily into the hair roots.

Thanks Joe, for the input.
Just for the records, I have not lost any of the new growth in the hairline. I just dont see any visible difference from when I started the using the iodine. I have had very good result with the Iodine, I must say, mainly in arresting hairloss (falling) and regrowth in the hairline, when I dindt even use the coconut/arnica mixture at the begining in the hairline area - no visible difference elsewhere, though.

Having said that, I will certainly try the coconut/Arnica alone, as you suggested, once I finish my iodine bottle (may be in 1 week or so). I will let all know of the outcome.

By the way, the essential oils I am using are just on the hair, not the scalp. and I use it in the morning, at least 8 hours after application of the coconut. Would that still be an antidote?

Regarding the olive oil, it tends to bee too heavy and weighs down my hair (I used to use olive oil to treat my hair when I had lots of it years ago). I would rather stick with the cocunut but I would need to use some scented oil in the morning to cover the scent as I dont like to wash my hair more than once per week. Any suggestions?

Thanks

zuummaa last decade
As long as you are happy with the coconut oil scent you are OK to use it. You are correct that the Olive oil is heavier than the Coconut but it works as well.

This mix must be shaken hard to ensure that it mixes as otherwise the Arnica Q stays at the bottom. It emulsifies when shaken hard.

I would prefer you to wash your hair every other day. This will enable the roots to breathe and be nourished with the new dose of Arnica mix.

I would not use any other essentil oils as they can antidote the Arnica Q.

Use only Johnsons baby shampoo as it is the mildest and use a capsule of fish oil daily.

I have never used Iodine as that is not homeopathy.

To Joe De Livera

I have been unable to get hold of te Arnica Mother Tincure. However, My pharmacist, who is also a homeopath, who works in a similar way to you do, was very interested in your hair loss remedies. He suggested to me that instead of Arnica Mother Tincture 20% and Coconut Oil 80%, I should try Arnica Oil (10%) which he said works out to be the same strength as what you are suggesting. He said the other advantage was that because it is an oil to start with, you don't have the problem of the separation of the oil and water based solutions. Also the smell is much less than the coconut oil. What do you think, in light of the fact I can't get the Arnica Mother Tincture?
Thank you

hannah-rj last decade
Go ahead with the Arnica oil even though it is a 10% solution.

The Coconut oil we use here in Sri Lanka where coconuts are grown, does not have any smell as long as you get the fresh oil. It does tend to have a rancid smell after about a year in storage due to fungus attack.

Report your response and count the number of hairs that you lose before and after the full treatment including the Arnica 30c taken in the liquid dose twice daily.

Hi all,

Sorry if i am deviating from the man topic.

I had posted below one as a seperate thread

'
Hi,

I am from india.
I have thick hair used to be quite long but cut it short now.

When I take a center part I have some hair loss in the front. The problem started several years back when I had some itiching and acne kind of thing in that small patch.

Also now I do not get the itch that frequently but what I see is that there is a tube like white formation near the root of the hair. This can be pulled out like an lice egg.
Not sure what it is. I do not have this any where in my head except in that portion

I am 35 years old.I tried several remidies but nothing worked to grow back hair in that area like my rest of the head.

Pl help.

Thanks.'

For this I was adiviced to take Graphites 30 twice for 10 days.

I would like to know from Joe if I can apply the Arnica tincture + coconut oil topicall for this also.

Hi Joe

I would like to try the Arnica topical for my hair shedding (I have just started the Iodine which I use with Castor oil) also I use a mud pack once a week using colourless henna, fullers earth and a bit of honey.

Joe - which Arnica do I need to get? and should I take it internally as well as topically? also you mention for people with itchy scalps to use sulphur - i am interested in this - i am gained instant relief before from applying a cream containing sublimed sulphur topically to my itchy burny scalp so I think I do need sulphur....

thanks!

Recently i studies one article regarding iodine tincture...

Iodine USP is a topical tincture of iodine. An iodine tincture is an alcoholic extract of iodine. It contains between 40% and 60% alcohol. This product is used as a disinfectant. The generic name for Iodine USP is Iodine Topical. It is an over-the-counter medication and comes in a 2% or 7% formulation. This drug is commonly used to treat small cuts and scrapes. As an antiseptic agent, this drug is effective in killing bacteria, found on the surface of the skin that may cause infection. It is commonly used as a first aid antiseptic and it can be found in most first aid kits. It is also used to treat disinfect minor burns. A tincture of iodine may also be used to disinfect the surface of drinking water. The use of Iodine USP and other drugs like it are also used to determine if a patient has a metabolic iodine deficiency - an important test in patients with problems of the thyroid gland. Iodine is toxic in its purest form. Nevertheless, it is necessary in the maintenance of normal body functions. Adverse side effects of Iodine USP are associated with allergic reactions to the drug. Extensive use of the medication may also result in undesired side effects. Common side effects of using Iodine USP include temporary staining of the skin (the stain usually goes away after 24 hours). Severe side effects associated with large doses include blistering, irritation, itching, redness of the skin and crusting. Those who have allergies to the drug may experience symptoms such as hives, rashes, swelling of the mouth, tongue and airways. They may also have breathing difficulties. Iodine USP is contraindicated in patients with known allergies to iodine and the components of Iodine USP. Those who are allergic to seafood and other food items should inform their healthcare provider about their condition. Pregnant and breastfeeding women may have to refrain from using Iodine USP. There is evidence that iodine affects the developing fetus. It also passes through the mother's milk.
