Tactile defensiveness

Doctor my son who is 11 years old is suffering from tactile defensiveness. He is not able to withstand the texture of the fabric until and unless it is synthetic sports wear that too with minimum stitching and no elastic.i generally pull out the elastic and put string but it is not as if he will still wear those shorts sometimes he confused me by wearing it for one time and then refusing it or refusing it without any logic. He is a very emotionally strong who does not express much. And he complains of the wetness in the anal region. He sits with his pants down i.e his crotch in direct contact with the seating surface. He can not sleep with his clothes on and can not wear shoes, leave alone the seamless socks without putting water in it.whenever he has to wear his shoes ,he will put a glass of water in each shoes before wearing them.He likes hot and spicy food.Loves eating ice cream and ice.i have been sending him to a OT for last one year but no relief so far.I feel helpless when I see him shivering in winters as he can not wear woollens or layers of any kind. What should I do?
Please reply as I m writing in this forum with lots of hope.TIA

Hi doctor I will try to answer your question to best of my knowledge

1) The main suffering of my son is that he feels very uncomfortable in his clothing.major areas where he feels discomfort are neck. Waist end, crotch area. another issue is that he is unable to wear shoes as he says that toes touch each other and I have the urge to scratch which I can't in shoes.seamless socks also didn't seem to work with him.

2).Other sufferings which I think he has that his bowel movements are not very good.He is constipated if not taken care off

3)He feels irritated if we ask him to shop for his clothing and not very comfortable while doing so.He also fears that new clothing will make him suffer so not ready to accept them and try them. But if he has to do it for his school then he knows that he doesn't have any option so he will pick one or two and then get fixed on it. Although I have seen that he likes deep pressure touch but he doesn't like anything which is tight in his clothing.if waistband is even a little tight he will refuse to wear it. he wants it to b so loose that it just hang in there .He can not wear polo t-shirts.

4)when he is at his worst he will b very restless and shouts and even cries that he can not handle these sensations. he will b very restless until and unless he is out of these clothings.

5) It all started when he entered his kindergarten around 5-6 years of age and he was into his new school . he started by refusing to wear his shoes then socks then undergarments and this all starts eventually.

6)No particular time of the day to trigger these feelings it is when ever he has to get dressed he feels these sensations.

7)His conditions aggravate during winter as he just can not wear his woollens and jackets and then his skin also becomes dry as he does not like applying lotion on his skin.
He likes taking walks with his friends.
And he has to put water in his shoes if he has to wear them and he doesn't wear socks.

8)I think his problem has nothing to do with any external factor. His feeling of restless ness is triggered by his clothing only.

9)in hot weather when he plays then he sweats a lot which makes him uneasy and in cold weather his dry skin makes things worse for him.

10)jealous,aggressive,forgetful,restless,rigid,clumsy

11)no change during thunderstorm
12) he is hard to console like if he has any fight with his cousins it take us a lot of time to pacify him.but as he is growing he is getting mature and hardly gets into any fights.

13)yeah he is sensitive towards sharp sunlight and loud noises

14no typical habit like nail biting but keep trimming his nails of hands and feet with his hand without nail cutter.

15)he get along with his friends very well but if someone in the class makes fun of him he feels insulted although he doesn't involve in physical fight but he lashes out verbally in front of me at home.I think that is the way he takes out his anger.I understand that deep down he seeks acceptability by his peers but at the same time can't get into more proper clothing so feel left out and dejected.

16)he is a student but a bright one who if study can achieve anything.dream job still not decided but earlier he wanted to become painter not want to study at Harward

He likes listening to music

He likes hot and spicy food items and loves eating sweets.

Thirst: he drinks lots of water as I think he is a water baby.
Hunger:I think he is hungry all the time.wants something or the other to eat.

He sweats normal and mostly head and back

Bowel movements get disturbed if doesn't eat fruits.he does not like cooked vegetables a lot but just manages them.stool is generally hard.

He sleeps very well like a very deep sleeper. But doesn't sleep in the afternoon.he curls up while sleeping.

No particular medicine has been taken for this but did try out Ayurvedic remedy but couldn't see any change.

Major disease in family from both sides is hypertension and diabetes.maternal great grandmother had brain Tumor

I think I have answered all your questions but still if you need to ask something I m ready to answer.

His remedy seems to be MERC SOL.

Try first in 30C some 3 to 4 doses on a single day, each dose 4 to 6 hours apart in empty stomach. No food or water one hour before or after.

Let me know if there is any change in him. If not, try 200C.
