All my issues seem to be related to the throat. Also, it involves eating too. What I eat and the amount seems to make things worse or better. I never have complete relief of symptoms no matter what I try or how healthy I eat.

Phlegm and mucus everyday. Post-nasal drip with mucus and phlegm dripping down into my throat. I have to hack or hawk it up and out. Thick, cannot be swallowed. Clear or white in color. Very sticky. Worst in the mornings right after breakfast (that is when I have the most). It's disgusting. It accumulates and drips down in the area between the Nose and Throat. Then I pull it down because it gets in the way. Sometimes, it's like it is just hanging there and will eventually come down. I usually pull it down at this point because it gets in the way of breathing (obstructs breathing) and it's uncomfortable. Sometimes it goes right to the throat itself. Usually if it is smaller and thinner, it will do that and then I have to bring it up, force it out, and spit it out. I carry napkins with me all day because it can happen at any time. It happens through out the day. Mostly, in the mornings, around noon, and afternoons. Also, happens mostly right after eating something, a meal, a snack, or anything.

This has been going on for about 7 to 8 years. Chronically, everyday. I have had a lot of food restrictions since the type of food I eat seems to make it less or more, but regardless of diet, it is always there. I will explain in more detail later in the other relevant questions.

Another complaint is the amount of food I eat is very restricted. I have to eat less because symptoms will get worse. I am not eating enough for a normal, adult person and not eating enough for me and my size. This has been going on for a while too and got worse and really bad a few years ago. A few years ago, I also developed a new symptom which I never had before either. I started to have difficulty swallowing food without it sticking in my throat. This is another big complaint. I swallow, and a bit of food gets stuck in my throat. Swallowing again usually does not help, sometimes it may. But usually, I have to take a sip of water to make it go down. I never actually choked during the years though. But sometimes, especially when this first started happening, I felt like I would choke. This happens through out my meals or snacks. This has been happening for a few years.

So, for my meals, the proportions have been cut in half pretty much. I seem to be underweight for my size for sure, definitely. If I eat more, then all the symptoms mentioned above will get worse. Including the swallowing issue which is scary. My throat will feel full. Like it can't swallow anymore. I have a full feeling. At the beginning of the meal, I have an appetite but after a few bites, I feel full. But I still eat slowly just so I can eat enough to survive. If I continue to eat more than I do now, my throat will start to feel constricted or closed while I am eating. This stops and prevents me from eating more.

Another thing that will make symptoms worse is what I eat. For example, for years I have cut out tomatoes, fried foods, cut out fatty foods as much as I can, and tried to eat healthy. This keeps the symptoms from getting worse, but after years of this, it doesn't stop the problems. I follow an Ayurvedic type of diet now, which helps. I was even Vegetarian once for about 6 months but I was losing more weight and it did not stop all the symptoms anyway.

There is a lot more that I have cut out and I can go into more detail if asked to. There also seems to be some mucus or phlegm at night around 11 pm or later (usually around the time I try to sleep). Which is another problem. Sleep. I do not sleep well at all. I have trouble falling asleep. I have pretty much been like that most of my life. I don't know what keeps me up now, I just feel restless. I feel wired but no thoughts are keeping me up. I just can't sleep when I want. I end up laying in bed for a few hours until I finally do. And no matter how long I sleep, 8 to 10 hours for example, I never feel refreshed in the mornings. I have trouble getting up and out of bed. I wake up, open my eyes, and then stay in bed for another hour or two. Have been like this for most of my life.

I do not feel refreshed at all after a night's sleep. The alarm goes off. I turn it off and go back to laying in bed because I feel so tired. I do not wake up during the night. I stopped eating 3 hours before sleep since I used to have some mucus in my sleep and it used to wake me up and I would spit it out. I do not have that anymore since I stopped eating late.

I have more complaints. Another one is how this has all effected my voice. I also clear my throat a lot. I read somewhere that this is due to the mucus and phlegm and how while it is there and bothering me, it causes me to clear my throat. While it is dripping down too I guess. I clear my throat a lot during the day and sometimes really loudly. A lot of what happens is loud, like the hacking up of the mucus/phlegm. It is sometimes really hard to hack up and spit out. It is so embarrassing too. I can barely function socially when this happens its so embarrassing. At work especially. I have to go to the bathroom or go outside and I carry napkins with me all the time just in case I need it. And I'm sure its very annoying and disgusting for other people to hear too. This is my life everyday since this problem first started 7 to 8 years ago. It is also ruining my voice. My voice gets hoarse and rougher because of all the throat clearing and getting rid of mucus. There isn't really any coughing, it's more of a forceful expectoration than anything else. Sometimes I almost lose my voice from all this. Also, certain foods can make it worse, like spicy foods, foods that are harder to digest like meat, beef, fatty foods, fried foods, pastries, etc.

I think it has seriously even damaged my voice. The ironic thing also about all this is that I want to become a singer. As a matter of fact, when this problem first started about 7 to 8 years ago, that was the time that I decided I wanted to become a singer and take it seriously. Might be a big connection there, I don't know. Before that, I had no other chronic problems in my life at all. Although, I will say that most of my life, I also had kind of a hoarse voice at times. Especially mornings. I wouldn't want to talk to anyone in the mornings. My voice felt tired, I felt tired, my voice was really rough and hoarse. I was also thin for most of my life too so there might be a connection there. I have always had trouble gaining weight and even maintaining it. Anyway, I have always, since puberty had insecurities about my voice. I didn't like my voice especially during those years and teenage years. I always felt that I had to clear my throat because it didn't sound right or my voice isn't going to sound good when I speak. It seemed too low, or hoarse and didn't sound good. I have always wanted to be a singer actually since those teenage years. There were times when I thought my voice really sounded good and other times when it didn't. But when I started to think about actually doing it for a living, and I started to write songs, write music, etc, that one thing really stressed me out and made me feel uncomfortable was singing. I wasn't confident about my voice or abilities and I was uncomfortable about the idea of singing in front of others. But I felt I had to do it. And I had to change my career, which was IT and still is. I also am not very patient with certain things in life and want to things to happen and change soon, especially when I am not happy with something like my career. I can also be disciplined and patient at times though. But with the singing thing, I was not. I was 21 back then and Im 29 now. Still haven't reached my goals as a singer and song writer. Its ok because I am taking singing lessons now privately. Also, I took a college singing class a few years ago. That made me really nervous too. But anyway, I still have some trouble because my voice seems flat a lot of times or not right on pitch. Thats why I say my voice seems damaged. A lot of teachers and musicians have said good things about my singing and say I have the ability to become one professionally. However, when I sing a song, I am not able to hit the right notes always no matter how much I practice and I seriously feel that this disease is causing that. It is damaging my voice everyday.

When I first started to sing around the age of 21, my voice was like monotone. People used to tell me that and I didn't like my voice either then. My voice would feel tired very soon, like almost right away. The voice and my performance is much better now from years of practice and dietary changes, but its still not what it should be at all. It is also hard for me to hit higher notes and some lower ones. Actually, going higher and lower is very hard for me and keeping it up, which is what a singer is supposed to do.

Anyway, this is all killing me. Please help. I thank you for responding so much, you have no idea. I think thats all I can think of now.

Also, recently I tried a remedy that I thought might be right for me Wyethia 30C. It says it benefits singers and public speakers and a lot of the
descriptions sounded like my symptoms when I researched. I took it I think 2 days ago. I took 3 doses in one day. I don't think I feel any difference. I also have it in 200C but I have not tried it.

Thanks again!
